It appears to have been discontinued by the manufacturer. I bought a copy of the R1 not that long ago too. You can still view it and order it used here:

Black Jack house fight recut (30 secs of sweetness)

Yeahello...?

I just posted another little stupidity on my Youtube page. It´s the"house fight" from Black Jack recut into 30 seconds. In this one I changed EVERY cut (the action is,cool but slooow in the real version ) and I started over with the sound effects and put new music on.

It´s extremely short and frantic, but it´s like a teaser for a Black Jack version that doesn´t exist (except in my mind).

There was some awesome action filmed for this flick but the final editing, sound effects and music water it down a lot. They could have made a sweet action piece out of the footage.

P.S. Most importantly: I edited out the little girl from the scene

Heh, nice work. Good idea editing the girl out. But we just don't share the same taste in music I guess. Why didn't you choose Henry Mancini or something? ;)

Thank you, I did the world a favour by getting rid of that kid.

Thank god you edited out the little girl--I cannot stand her! "Uncle Jack, roundhouse! 5 o'clock!"

John Woo is probably stewing over it in bed at how cringe-worthy that was.

Does anyone else have a huge affinity for this flick?! Just the simple fact that it was a backdoor TV pilot directed by John Woo makes this stand out in Dolph's filmography. Woo was coming off his first bonafide US success with Face/Off and he decides to direct this. Is it a quality piece of work? Yeah right. But for some reason I just dig it's cheesy quality. It really was a change of pace for Dolph with the supporting characters, the costumes, the locales, etc.
Has anybody seen the making of? I saw it's on the Japanese DVD but I don't live in Japan.

I've seen it as I luckily found a used copy of the Japanese DVD. It's a 10 mins promotional EPK but for a Dolph flick it's of course better than nothing and you get your share of behind the scenes footage, cast and crew interviews etc.

Cool screenshots. I would love to see the making of feature.

I haven't seen this film in years but I thought Dolph and John Woo would be an incredible combo. Boy was I disappointed. I think Blackjack was one of Dolph's worst. I even enjoyed Storm Catcher, Agent Red and Retrograde more.

I know it was a TV pilot so it couldn't be too violent but I just thought it was really stupid and lame.

Maybe if I saw it again I would have a little bit of a change of heart(like I did with Sweepers).

I actully love this film, one of his best.. Men Of War and Showdown might be better and of course Rocky. Absolutely incredible action scenes and the story is fine, a shame it didn’t get a sequel .
