“We got Lundgren,” Glenn Howerton said during a panel on set. “He’s playing John Thunder Gun.” John Thunder Gun is the fictional action hero of the Thunder Gun Express franchise. One time the gang completely abandoned each other and Dee was covered in sewer filth while they were trying to make it to one of his movies. John Thunder Gun is primarily known in the show for hanging serious dong, so we’ll see if Lundgren delivers.

New season of the show starts this week. Read this review and it appears that Lundgren's episode is now the second one for the season:

The Gang gets to test screen the latest film in the Thunder Gun franchise—with Dolph Lundgren making an appearance as John Thundergun himself—but are enraged to find the movie is PG-13

Cool! I was wondering if there was a chance he might appear in more than one episode, or they moved up this one...

EDIT:
“Thunder Gun 4: Maximum Cool” sounds like there's a subtle nod to "Maximum Potential" or I'm reading too much into it...

DAY: We have film noir episode, shot in black and white, using much fancier cameras than we shoot our show on. It makes you realize we should shoot on those cameras anyway. Oh, we got Dolph Lundgren!

HOWERTON: Playing John Thunder Gun. And I directed two episodes this year.

Enjoyed his episode a lot! He doesn't appear with the regular cast but he shows up in various "scenes" from his new movie, THUNDERGUN 4. Funny stuff.

DL put a good performance and pulled some subtle emotional work in there. You can tell this came after CREED II (since AQUAMAN and THE TRACKER were shot prior).

Well, I'm not at all familiar with the show, but this was fun. Too bad it didn't deal more with Dolph, but it's a start.

New episode for a new month! This month David Rosen comes back to the show again, and we discuss Dolph’s turn doing situational comedy in THREE comedic television shows — Chuck, Workaholics, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia! Enjoy!
