And with it's $9-10 million budget SKIN TRADE is far from being on the cheaper end of low budgets...!

France got a late DVD/BR release but they didn't make any effort whatsoever to communicate on it (whereas the same company had done more for WAR PIGS)...

When I see the prices drop on Amazon.co.uk it sure seems to go down pretty fast for these movies these days...

Skin Trade is a bit like a non-arthouse version of Only God Forgives.

I've posted scarce figures in the previous pages but they're incomplete, and I've answered in the BLACK WATER topic yesterday or the day before that they're not making much money, either because the territories are too small, or because there's very few screens (and sometimes 1 or two shows a day) and little awareness for the mainstream audience in the US, and they usually stay for one week only...

In the case of SKIN TRADE, Dolph and Tony did some good PR online but the actual release (one or three screens with one show a day at 9pm) was kind pathetic so it sure didn't make more than $2000. It' was more of a launch for the simultaneous VOD release.

Michael J. White:
Dolph and I were also connected fraternally through both of us being Kyokushin practitioners, and we’ve had the same manager for many years now, but I first ran into him back in 1992 on the set of “Universal Soldier”, so it was fun to have a similar “Universal Soldier” reunion on “Skin Trade” as I did with Jean-Claude on “Universal Soldier: The Return”. Tony and I go way back, and I consider him one of the best martial artists in the world, and in every sense of what a martial artist is. He truly personifies that.

SKIN TRADE really got a great, moody and darkly poetic pre-sales/teaser poster artwork...
