I can buy another one being made, but hard to buy Van Damme returning and no way in 3D.

Interesting, very interesting. John Hyams returning as the director? Yes! Van Damme vs Dolph again? YES! Well, if Comingsoon.net and Slashfilm.com is reporting it, it must be true. And that's just :D. But in 3D ... wait, does that mean - theatrical? As in, the movie will be shown in cinemas? :o Please, please someone tell me I'm right! Or wrong, if you have to :x ...

The Hollywood Reporter has it, too.

Either they all fall for the same joke or it's true. Sounds like Dolph's career is speeding up again even before the release of The Expendables. :D

According to Sheldon Lettich on the VD forum:
"If Foresight makes good pre-sale numbers, they'll approach JC and Dolph with offers."

Universal Soldier 4 announced: With DL and VD IN 3D (WTF?!)

This is all over the net (and the vandamme-boards).
Like someone over there said. They are probably pre-selling this without having asked JC or Dolph.
Or does anyone have some kind of direct from source info (I am looking at you Jox)?

No I just read that today like you guys, I know DL is in Bulgaria right now but I don't know if it's related, and let's remember that when Foresight announced UNISOL 3 with JCVD and DL, Dolph had not signed yet and was still turning it down (it was before John Hyams came on board)...

If everything goes "according to plan", he could be starring in two franchises, one big-budget - Expendables - and one (so far) lowbudget - Unisol - in the near future! :D I have to admit, I wouldn't be quite this excited for the Unisol sequel if it wasn't John Hyams directing, he really made Unisol 3 one of the best actionmovies of the decade IMHO. And sorry for repeating myself, but does anyone have a clue if the 3D indicate that Unisol 4 will be a theatrical release, or that it will be made just for 3D-TV:s?

Van Damme was seen on the red carpet at Cannes this week so I wonder if they are connected?

Here's what director John Hyams said on Facebook:
"Yeah, for the most part it is true, though too early to go into detail about. We've come up with a concept that we're excited about and looks like we're moving forward."

Excellent! Hope they get The Big Two, Van Damme & Dolph, back onboard as well. Wouldn't mind if they added a few new badasses to the cast though, which I'm sure they will.

Do you believe that this is true really? They go Damme did not want already to take part in the third one. Why was it going to take part now in the fourth one? Not if this can be true, but to me surely if that I would like.

I think the deal is still being negotiated as we speak. But the good response of the third opus and maybe a bit of pressure from his entourage can motivate him to do this one (more than ever now that his baby, THE EAGLE PATH, doesn't seem to be convincing enough to be well received).

EDIT: message from John Hyams to one of the VD forum admins
It looks like US4 is going to happen. I'm writing the script right now, so I'm not going to release any details at all about it. What I can say is that it will be quite different from any of the previous films. I feel like this is a great opportunity, since I'm involved from the inception this time, to take my ideas even further than I did before. I'm excited about exploring these new directions, as are the producers.

Knowing the man can do and listening to him on the audio commentary, I'm definitely confident about this, so even though we could have done without a new UNISOL movie again, I know that with Hyams on board it can become something really cool and hopefully he'll be able to explore his ideas even further.
