That's great potential! I think Hyams is a real shining talent.

Is the US Blu-ray region A only?
I'm tempted to get the dvd version though as I have a multi-region player.

John Hyams added on FB:
This is the original cut that screened at Fantastic Fest, and has been released on blu ray in the UK and other countries. However, in the US we were forced to make cuts for an R rating. One of those cuts was for graphic sexual content, the rest were for violence. There's also a couple of shots where we had to digitally tone down some gore by painting things out. For the most part I don't believe there's a huge difference between the two versions, and many of the cuts did not bother me very much, however, there's a couple key of moments that make the unrated version superior in my mind. You'll know them when you see them.

HIDE YOUR CHILDREN! The NC-17 version of DAY OF RECKONING is finally available in the US!

U.S dvd sales for UniSol DOR (so far) : $1,247,889 (to take with caution, this site is not well updated). Source
Adding more than 1 million $ for overseas theater box office (for numbers available here and there, it must be more as a lot theatrical releases are not in this number) and the movie is quite a "success" on it's scale. So far.

I think it's been quite the success over here in the UK, It has been promoted far more than your usual straight to video release, and Dolph has done promotion for the film on real high profile shows such as Jonathan Ross, that's really rare for a DTV.
