Well, this is maybe a bit off topic, but I read in some Bulgarian press articles that wrote about Expendables 2, that Dolph will be making another movie around Christmas, Australian production movie called Wonderland...

Jox, do you know something about this?

AS WONDERLAND GOES BY is a small independent auto-produced movie directed by Marc Windon, his CP and ICARUS cinematographer, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if he asked Dolph for a cameo. Could you send me the links?
As Wonderland Goes By... is an indy feature which will push the boundaries of possibility for a low budget movie. It's setting is Sofia, Budapest, Prague, Kiev and Tehran. It's a road movie, like Peckinpah's The Getaway, but is mixed with plenty of Dr. Strangelove catastrophe and black humor. It also marries an epic amount of sexual, sensual, sadistic inspiration from Wild Orchid, Eyes Wide Shut and Dangerous Liaisons. The audience for this film is very much the Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Natural Born Killers, Goodfellas and Boogie Nights generation. The swinging soundtrack should really kick it into gear. Filming begins throughout Europe in September 2011. It will screen for buyers at the Marche Du Film in 2012.

R.I.P.

A stuntman has died on the set of The Expendables 2, which is filming in Bulgaria. The accident happened a little after 7 PM local time on Thursday while the movie’s 2nd Unit Stunt Team was filming a scene on reservoir Ognyanovo 15 miles outside the capital Sofia. Two stuntmen participated in the stunt, which involved an explosion. One of them died, while the other was injured and is currently in a hospital in critical condition. The local police has launched an investigation into the incident which happened while the film’s main unit, led by director Simon West and star/producer Sylvester Stallone was filming in the picturesque mountain resort village Bansko 2.5 hours away.

“It is with great regret that we confirm this unfortunate accident,” Nu Image/Millennium Films, the production company behind The Expendables 2, said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the families and those on the production affected by this tragedy. The filmmakers are working closely with the authorities in responding to and investigating this accident.” In consideration of the families of the victims, names and other details are not being released at this time, a spokesman for the production said. The Expendables 2, the sequel to Sylvester Stallone’s 2010 sleeper hit action-hero actioner, boasts a star-studded ensemble cast that includes Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Liam Hemsworth, Terry Crews, Jet Li, Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Sad news indeed. It happens everynow and again in the stunt profession. I know the stuntman community is usually pretty tight knit so they'll all raise a glass to their dearly departed brother. They should dedicate the film to that guy.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the two stuntmen
"were in a rubber boat in the water when, around 7 pm local time, a planned bomb explosion went wrong"

Nu Image/Millenium Films offers condolences to the family of a second stuntman who died and says the project continues on schedule.

Nuo Sun, one of the stuntmen who was seriously injured during the filming of Expendables 2 in Lake Ognyanova, Bulgaria, on Oct. 27, is now in stable condition and has been taken to Munich, Germany, for further treatment, Nu Image/Millenium Films, the company behind the production, said Monday.

Kun Lieu, a second stuntman, was killed as a result of the accident that occurred during the filming of a second unit stunt sequence.

“Our deepest condolences go to the family of Kun Lieu. His passing is tragic,” the company said in a statement. “Our sympathies also go to Nuo Sun who was seriously injured as a result of the same explosion. We have been informed his condiditon has stabilized. He hasbeen transported to Munich, Germany, where he is receiving top medical carefrom the best specialists.”
Nu Image said that reports in Bulgarian-language newspapers that stunt doubles for the movie’s stars Sylvester Stallone and Jet Li were involved in the accident were wrong.

http://www.deadline.com/2011/10/stuntma ... ndables-2/
Regrettably, Bulgarian language newspapers have incorrectly reported that stunt doubles for Jet Li and Sylvester Stallone were involved in the accident. This is absolutely false and inaccurate. At the time of the accident neither Li’s or Stallone’s stuntmen were on or near the Second Unit set, nor were any of the film’s main actors, director Simon West or any of the Main Unit crew.

Only Second Unit filming has been temporarily suspended and will resume shortly. The filmmakers continue to work with authorities investigating this accident. Main Unit production has not been interrupted and continues as scheduled.
