Dolph gets second billing after Austin? I barely knew who the guy was before THE EXPENDABLES though I get he's big in the US...

Doesn't seem right to me either but because of his wrestling background he is the bigger name in the US. I believe he's retired from the actual wrestling but he still shows up a lot in various capacities for the WWE and even hosts an American Idol-for-wrestling type TV show.

The directors for this film and the one Lundgren will do with Gooding don't really encourage me much, but I am glad he's doing more DTV flicks with "name" co-stars.

I'm not so thrilled about these either especially since the action flicks from Krevoy's company don't seem to have much flavor and he has a pretty bad reputation (not mentioning the budgets probably won't be that high if Van Damme's WEAPON $4 million is an example)...

If Austin is the good guy and Lundgren is the bad guy, Dolph could have a noticeably smaller role than Austin.

I don't know I can't really see Austin as a good guy but I guess a lot of people say the same thing about Dolph... their big brawl should look good though (wish it had been for TE)...

Austin also played the good guy in The Condemned. I thought he did well.

Ernie Barbarash made STIR OF ECHOES 2. Facts really don't seem to be of much importance at Cannes.

STIR OF ECHOES 2 is without a doubt, one of THE best DTV sequels I've seen... Death Race 2 was bad and Street Kings 2: Motor City was god-awful... Haven't seen any of Barbarash's other stuff, but Dolph could certainly do worse with another DTV director... I really don't see this one being a disappointment, at least in terms of direction.

I hope so, I only saw CUBE 3: HYPERCUBE from Barbarash which I didn't like at all but it was a whole different genre so hopefully he'll do good with this one. I guess the test will come when Van Damme / Scott Adkin's WEAPON comes out.

mmmmmmmm, not sure what I think about this one or One in the Chamber. Good on one hand that we do eem to be getting more and more DL but whilst I love the sounds of things such as Small Apts my concerns are the same as Jox's here I would be very worried about the quality, Dont like the being billed 2nd much either.
- Lets be honest. This is just a case to you, to me its more. Much more! and if you try and take this disk I'm going to hit you very, very hard!

I had completely missed this one - Dolph and Austin, pretty cool. Probably standard fare, I suppose, but still, distinguished co-stars FTW! :)

MPCA announced through Variety that Ernie Barbarash shall direct the next Van Damme flick SIX BULLETS this August. This could well mean that THE PACKAGE will be postponed, with Dolph already doing ONE IN THE CHAMBER in July. And we'll have to see when they decide to start THE EXPENDABLES 2... Personally I wouldn't mind if this one was scrapped so that Dolph could finally move on to SKIN TRADE after TE2.
