THE MINION - David & Eric Wurst (new score) This new score, more classic than the original electric guitar riffs of the first initial music, has been added for the newer cut (released in Germany and Hong Kong).
Personally I was disappointed by the original score when I first saw the movie but now I've been used to it and like it better. The director Jean-Marc Piché told me when I interviewed him:
Was it your take to try to go for a different score than the usual orchestra score? Yeah, and again, it’s debatable if I picked the right decision or not. At the time I thought that I wanted to do something different. It was because of the budget that I had, because of the time that I had to work, why don’t we try to do something which is a mix of a, it’s a big word but I don’t have another word for that: between a pop movie and art movie, like I was trying to have those two together to do something that it’s kind of a hybrid of two genres. It worked for some people, it didn’t work with other people, I’m fine with that I prefer that’s it black and white, not gray, gray is the worst thing for me. But yeah I wanted to go a little bit more a mix of techno and jazz, and you know usually you don’t use that type of music for that type of movie
for the music I was going for something similar to Romeo Is Bleeding, that's for sure. And you know what, a little bit of the music of Nikita, a mix...
More a ROCKY III song than IV, "Eye of the Tiger" is still featured in the movie and soundtrack album so here is the official music video from Survivor
