"less than 1 season"... That's not very much.

I was not implying that RESCUE 3 was a mini-series: it's already on order for a full season of 20 or 22 episodes if not two!

He'd sworn he'd never do TV but things being what they are he changed his mind and actually takes it like it's gonna be more fun to do for a while.
(I've never even watched more than 5 mins of WALKER, TEXAS RANGER, does it really have decent action? To me it looked like "LIttle House on the Prairie" starring Chuck Norris)...

In France they finally decided last week to stop to broadcast it (which was released so that the bands are worn). The biggest problem was that it was too focused on the "texan's values" like guns, religion ...

Act as if you did not understand what I meant ;)

There's a flip side this the whole TV is bad thing as well... Kiefer Sutherland completely revived his career with "24" and was able to get back onto the big screen. If the show is done well enough and gain a big enough audience it could do wonders for D's profile.

I wish this is what happens. I also wish Dolph had been given something like "24". But you're comparing a high-profile (Fox), original (never-seen-before concept) and smart TV show, with a show from a guy who only produces series about lifeguards (his current slate include no less than "Rescue 3", "Kahala Bay", "Hawaïan Son", "Deep Blue", "Trace Winds" and "Point Dume")! ;)

Rescue 3 isn't soley about lifeguards though from what I understand? Here in the states shows that delve into the rescue services... firefighters/life&coast guard/cops and such generally are given a chance by audiences... for whatever reason it's part of the reason baywatch became such a huge hit... well and the generous servings of lovely young ladies in bathing suits.

From what you guys have posted it seems like this particular production is leaning towards a more serious tone unlike anything baywatch was.

Indeed, one episode = one rescue + one guest celebrities, it seems to be a better level than baywatch. Even if I would have preferred a more deep and black role as the theme of the series which I thought !

I guess we'll find out in less than a year since it's starting shooting in April and set to air in the fall 2013...

Première TV Distribution is very happy to announce the acquisition of its first series, “Rescue 3″, starring Dolph Lundgren!

Southern California’s elite multi-agency task force, Rescue 3, consists of the cream-of-the-crop from Los Angeles Lifeguard, Firefighter and Coast Guard agencies. They are the heroes who answer the most challenging calls. Specialists, who collaborate, coordinate and initiate daring rescues in the most dangerous venues (air, fire, water) to save human life.

Each episode will center on big-action rescues involving all 3 services lead by a reluctant leader, Lifeguard John Mathews (Dolph Lundgren), who has stepped in for his mentor and friend. The inter-agency cooperative effort will not be without its challenges, but will provide for extremely dramatic personal conflict and still yield an effective and efficient public service. There is enormous competition between them as they uphold the pride of their individual services. BUT, when emergency life and death circumstances arise, they check their egos at the door and do whatever must be done to save human life.

(Premiere TV Distribution is a releasing company for Benelux)

It doesn't start until April and secondary characters are usually cast at the last minute. I don't think there's gonna be any other known actors except for cameos in certain episodes.

One or two more recognizable faces would be good. Plus the opening show needs a decent guest star to really kick off with a good level of interest.

There's a promo video with producers interviews and fake footage...
(Dolph is mentioned, with footage of US3 and EX1.)

Any idea yet what channel this will be on...? My guess is Reelz or Spike, though it's hard to say...

Actually being a syndicated show through Tribune TV, it should be on an even more mainstream channel, like CW or even Fox...
