I assumed so. DNC insisted on doing a giveaway. FYI nobody entered yet.

So how has TM been doing? Good distribution on the shelves, top seller?

Pretty good. Not as much coverage as The Defender or Missionary Man but its made the top 20 in a few stores. I saw it at #17 on its 2nd week in Tesco, a huge supermarket chain and very reasonably priced. I wasn't here for the release in the first week, I was away on holiday so I'm afraid I can't update you on the actual positionings in its first week. Sorry!! :(

Highest I saw it was 8th in WHsmiths. At least it's there on the high street though. I thought this may have slipped by unnoticed, but it's charted in all the major stores. Didn't quite have the extra Sony kick though.

For title released three years later it's not too bad. I was afraid the time lapse would have killed it: proof is of course hardcore Dolph-fans already own it. Hopefully/thankfully Dolph kicked back into the UK market this year and will stay there from now on so this kind of delay won't happen again.

I think a movie filmed in 2003/2004 making a debut in all the charts in almost every DVD selling store in the UK four years later is not a sign of sales slipping. That was The Defender. Even for a smaller label DNC have done a great job of getting The Mechanik in stores and out there.

Hey guys, something interesting to tell you. A big supermarket in the UK called Tesco has this screen and you scan any dvd at the bottom of the scanner using the barcode and it shows you a trailer. And I thought, yeah they ain't gonna do that for Lundgren..nope, they did.

Scanned the DVD and it flashed up on the screen, "DOLPH LUNDGREN IS BACK," "I'm a mechanic, I fix cars," followed by car smashes, the bike chase and lots of shooting and fighting and then it said, "ON DVD JULY 21ST"

That was kick ass guys, some great promo there!!!

Ah man, how come my local Tesco doesn't do that?! And why don't they even have any of Dolph's recent movies in stock?

That sucks.

This type of topic can go either in the 'movie' section, or better in the 'memorabilia' topic (in the general discussion section).
