I thought Sidney j. furie was suppose to direct the controller wan't he?

Yes, and i think he was also suppose to direct "The Defender" (as written on the production designer resume) but those things can quickly change. Maybe the producers from Nu Image saw some footage of "The Defender" and asked Dolph to direct their new movie, or Dolph loved directing so much that he wanted to do it again right away...

That sounds like it could be very good for the region there as well! I am glad to see other countries doing so well in the film business. California is so expensive its almost not even feasible these days. Plus, I don't think L.A. is very nice of a city, dirty, cramped, slow traffic and high costs mainly due to importation of energy resources.

it seems confirmed that Dolph will direct his second feature in Bulgaria, now we just don't know if it's THE CONTROLLER or if he has another project ready to go

New Dolph movie according to the main man. Don't know if anyone has seen the update on his site yet. Looks like Dolph enjoyed directing.

yeah that's great, I'm just not to keen on seeing him again as the killer who turns against his superiors, he did this so many times... I think Dolph should direct a really personal movie and maybe even not star in it, what do you think?

I also think Dolph should avoid titles begining with "THE" or make them change. Titles like The Shooter, The Peacekeeper, The Defender, The Controller, The Mechanic make really cheap, not high profile.

Appart from that I know there's a flick about a hitman starring Charles Bronson called THE MECHANIC, I wonder if the one with Dolph is a remake...

Worldwide-fx - special effects company that worked on movies with Van Damme and Seagal is going to make the effects for The mechanik

If the pruduction on this one starts now then i guess the controller won't be made after all.

Thanks for the info and the link. As for THE CONTROLLER, they told me at Nu Image that the project was still in development (step before pre-production), but I also believe it may not happen...

The movie is now listed on IMDB as in post-production.

During the AMERICAN FILM MARKET last month, it was pre-sold by Nu Image, and they actually took the ad poster of THE CONTROLLER and replaced the title by THE MEKANIK...
