Yeah exactly the kind of Z grade title this doesn't need to be. But of course what happened is the business people have decided you couldn't sell a Dolph Lundgren film (let alone a shark one) called THE LAKE as if it was some kind of sappy romance like THE LAKE HOUSE (Sandra Bullock/Keanu Reeves) or something.
That poster, with the title 'The Lake' should give a vibe closer to Creature from the Black Lagoon, rather than some Asylum shit. Which would definitely boost sales more around Halloween time 2015.
"Dolph Lundgren plays the lead role of Clint and Clint gets released from jail early and of course wants his daughter Carly back. However Clint is not her biggest problem… the lake is."
The premise sounds like it could go one of two ways - terrible shark attack film with bad CGI and cringeworthy acting or a half decent thriller with an interesting and different character for Dolph. Hope it's the latter but I won't hold out hope.
"Are we having fun yet?" - Dolph Lundgren, Universal Soldier

According to SAG, the $625,000 maximum budget has to include everything, including actors fees and post-production, above-the-line (creative, talent) and below-the-line (crew etc.).
Producers use so many tricks, who knows if what the casting call says is accurate or if it really does include Dolph's fee or not... Here the ad claim the production "non-union" (which is more likely): http://www.backstage.com/casting/shark-lake-56332/
The IMDB page has disappeared, seems very sketchy, not sure this is really happening (on the other hand, a good friend's girlfriend who's an actress submitted for an audition for the lead female role)...
