I know Dolph got involved and helped out in the final cuts of WAR PIGS and 4GOT10.

I just caught the new trailer. This movie actually looks incredibly decent.

Sara Malakul Lane:
“It’s the first time I play a cop which was super fun. We shot the film in Mississippi earlier this year. It was nice to play a tomboyish character, no makeup totally unglam, gun slinging, shark fighting. There was a lot of swimming and boat scenes too. This was a dream role for me because Jaws is one of my favorites, Shark Lake is kind of a throwback to that, where a shark is scary enough as a shark.”

First review isn't good but it's from someone who didn't want any serious character-driven drama in it from the get go so I'll reserve my judgement for when I see it:

"The Arrow" himself is a screenwriter/actor. From what I've heard of his films, he sounds like he'd be best buddies with Serafini and Capaldi. Not particularly someone whose opinion I care about.

This was never going to be a film critics, even genre specialists, would enjoy.
To be honest I think the whole thing looks pretty terrible, but if they take it totally seriously, then it's going to be difficult to find any sort of audience. I can't stand all that Sharknado shit. The gag only works to a point, but I do get why people watch it.
Shark Lake doesn't appear to be a film that is going to please the pizza and beer (possibly weed too) crowd and honestly, on that budget, in this day and age, that's all you can do with a shark movie.

This one is still a curiosity to me, and of course as a completist, I'll be watching, but I'm not holding up much hope.

For sure.

Me! Yet I'm pretty sure that's the hook that Dolph found interesting in it, the same way he had fun doing the 4GOT10 part because his character was kinda off and odd in a weird mix of nerdness, combined with some comic attitude and creepiness...

Well, the main attraction for me is Dolph's character and his backstory, not at all the shark aspect of it (I've had my count of shark flicks). But I can understand that most are expecting a Dolph vs Shark flick.
