I don't know. Iron Sky's crowdfunding campaign was incredibly successfull regarding both publicity and funding. Of course they had put a lot of time and effort into it and it was a really fun campaign.

That worked but it was kind of a culty idea which attracted interested. They didn't have any star names attached either.

I'm not particularly a fan of seeing star vehicles using this tool. They should conceivably, even with ideas out of their norm, find it much easier to attain financing in the conventional ways than up and coming indie film-makers. There's more than enough money men who'd put together a Dolph/Rourke war film with nods to Inglorious Basterds. It's not a huge change of pace for them. I just don't think they should be begging for 7,500 grand. Evidently Dolph or Rourke didn't like that either.

Yep, probably.

That's a really good point. It is getting there soon. Veronica Mars turned out pretty successful, it'll be interesting to see how Spike Lee's blood addiction movie fares.

Yep, true. If you look at it this way it seems that they maybe just did it because it's a "cool" thing to do.

This is where I wish I had done the military service: I need to learn and translate some army dialect/lingo to find the French equivalents...! ;)

I'm glad to see Dolph in another project with potential. Hopefully Mickey Rourke puts in a good showing too. He's one of my favourite actors when he's on form.

Utah of all places strikes me as an odd choice for a WWII set film. Many of Dolph's previous films have been shot in Bulgaria due to the low production costs. Though it's still too early to tell, a European location like Bulgaria seems like it would suit this production a little better than Utah...
