Can anybody confirm the running time for the US VOD?
(The German Blu-ray runs 91 mins whereas most US sites list it at 88 minutes so I'm wondering if the US cut is shorter)

Opening October 15th in United Arab Emirates theaters:

The Australian Region 4 DVD pre-order site says 89 minutes.

89 mins in PAL sounds right.

S'il y en a qui achètent l'édition française "ACT OF HONOR" sortie hier, dites-moi si le film est au format 2.35 (cinémascope) ou pas (1.78 - 16/9) SVP! :)

Once again, I'll have to wait some weeks to buy the dvd, but if I can get my hand on the case, I'll tell you (dvdfr.com says it's 1.85).

I don't trust the cases, they're still wrong too often on this matter, especially on thse movies because they're not ehcked as much as bigger films.

The French are the only ones to have released a trailer in 2.35 and yet the backcover (which I've just seen) still says 1.78, so I really need to make sure before I throw another 20€ for another edition with a terrible title and ugly misleading cover...

Still waiting for a real confirmation but it seems the French distributor tricked us by cropping the trailer to 2.35 to make it look like a more prestigious production than it is... :(
(and yet the movie still seems perfectly framed for the wider format)

“War Pigs” wants to be “The Dirty Dozen”. No, it wants to be “Inglorious Basterds”! Hell, it spends its entire runtime just trying to find an identity. Unfortunately, its cast of stunning action stars isn’t enough to muster up a damn in the muck. Luke Goss and Dolph Lundgren get the steal a bit of the spotlight, while Mickey Rourke spends most of the film looking lost. But, it’s a macho powered World War II movie!

Unfortunately, that’s not enough to climb over the low points of the film. The camera work is shakier than a Greengrass disciple on the low end of his Topamax. The film plays like every other Eurotrash clone that’s been aping Hollywood’s war output since “Kelly’s Heroes”. It is violent, wants to be edgy and yet never has a point. I dig man on a mission movies, but there’s got to be a hook for being this campy.

The hook never comes and what we get is something that belonged to the delegation of its DTV compatriots. Most readers will never have a chance to see this in theaters, so your best shot is VOD or home video. I can’t say that is a bad thing, as having the ability to turn it off might leave you with better memories of the end result. There’s a ghost of an amazing film here, but never materialized.

Yesterday I watched my blu ray of War Pigs. I have to say, I think it's not a bad movie. You can tell what the director wanted, but he just did not have the resources / budget for it. I thought Dolph was badass in the shoot out in the middle of the film. The only thing I did not like was the ending. It was over too fast. I was waiting for another shoot out at the finale, but they handled the problem very quickly. Overall not a bad movie.
