@Bomaz. You're not alone. Pre-ordered the German version some days ago. :D

Thinking if they put Bill Bellamy on the cover "why didn't they entitle this "Two kindergarten cops ?", it kinda kills already...

I had hopes for this but it kind of looks like it will be crap. I am still gonna see it though.
Dolph looks good on the cover.

I'll admit I pre bought the pack for the first one (that I shamefully love, I watched once every two year). My hopes for the sequel are not high, but I think it will be a fairly enjoyable flick for Dolph fans like us.
And there's no way Bellamy will live up to Pamela Reed (and the predictable love interest won't live up to Penelop Ann Miller <3 ).

I think the first KINDERGARTEN COP is very good comedy you don't have to be ashamed of appreciating, I did back then and can enjoy it today as well.

Like TWINS, it's based on an absurd concept and is wrongly labeled "for kids" but it totally works (unlike JUNIOR or much much worse, JINGLE ALL THE WAY which is really dummyfying even for kids) and it's even somewhat gritty at times (and how cool a John Kimble cop action thriller could have been)...

Unfortunately the marketing of KC2 (the FB page posts are horrendous) leads us to believe it may be more in the vein of the JINGLE ALL THE WAY stupid way of making things "for kids" or the below average family watching Fox or whatever (I just hope not SAF3 kind of bad).

I'm glad that there's someone else who can appreciate the original KC. Is it one of Arnold's best? Probably not. But it does have a sense of originality that seems to be lost today. The original KC's central villain was a sadistic momma's boy drug runner, whose own mother was equally sadistic. You don't see those original characteristics in films today, especially those that are DTV. And yes, the original is extremely dark and violent in various parts, which helps in solidifying it as part of Arnold's canon, as opposed to trash like JUNIOR and JINGLE ALL THE WAY, which are insulting to fans of Schwarzenegger.

The dark aspects will be lost in this one, instead opting for the silly and cheesy humor. And the bad guy(s) will most likely one note and one dimensional. This entire product will be disposable.

As flawed as it is, I think JUNIOR is a failed attempt that just didn't take, a third that wasn't "the charm" this time around... but JINGLE ALL THE WAY (which didn't have Reitman and co behind) was "insulting", not just to Arnold's fans but to everybody, kids and adults alike, like some shows that are just too dumb for anyone's intelligence and yet presumptuous enough to assume people or certain categories of people are below them, often kids who are looked down as creatures who will eat any silly thing or pooh joke (in a way which is not funny at any time for anyone, even that takes craft and wit to pull it off)... Tunning in and appealing to audiences intelligence and sensibility is also something that got lost for the most part and studios no longer assume the risks.

I love how PR people can't discreetly write credible "fake" reviews on Amazon:

Yeah, those are embarassingly awful... What's also interesting is that if you look closely at the back cover, it says "Based on the film KINDERGARTEN COP." Now, I knew that this was in no way going to follow the continuity of the original, yet what this is clearly stating is that "Yeah, it's the same story once again... Calling it a 'sequel' allows us to get by with our unoriginality."

The way the original writers seem to have managed to get credits everywhere and since this seems more like a loose remake than sequel they (lawyers/agents, whoever) got the studio to add this mention for legal clearance...

Cetificate "12" in the UK (BBFC insight: moderate sex references, violence, discriminatory language)
