I was browsing the Film Catalogue's site that lists movies that are in production, and noticed that Taylor & Dodge, a foreign sales company, just updated their page for their action movie Altitude with cast additions Denise Richards and Dolph Lundgren.

After a headstrong FBI agent goes against the chain of command on a hostage negotiation, she is headed to a desk job in Washington, DC. While on the plane she meets a handsome businessman who offers her millions if she assists him in getting off the plane alive. At first she laughs it off as a joke, but she soon realizes that his ex-partners have hijacked the plane. Now, it's up to her to save the passengers, while choosing sides in a mid-air confrontation between two factions of a criminal gang.

According to their Facebook page they started filming this Monday in Los Angeles.

Denise Richards as lead. Well somewhere between "oh yeah" and "oh no" (and the kid from Stuart Little serves as executive procducer  ). At least the director has experience with valuable casting (terence Howard, Peter FOnda, Ving Rhames ...).
If it means Dolph's making money in order to producer beter movies on his own, with parallel projects like Hail Caesar (a little publicity) and Don't Kill It (it looks like it's gonna be a "festival" movie treat), he can allow himself to do these moneymaking little projects.

It's like a new Dolph movie pops up every week. At least he is the lead villain in this one which should allow Dolph to do his schtick, looking sharp too. Reminds me a bit of Randy Couture's Hijacked (which was awful by the way). The problem with setting an entire movie on a plane is that unless you have a great script that keeps the tension up and a reasonable budget, it can only mean boring cliched dialogue and terrible CGI. Hopefully this will prove that theory wrong.

Yep. Plus movies in my opinion "action movies on planes" are getting so old and so boring, even as an exploitation flick I'm baffled they still dare doing something like this.

Well, I do not really agree on that. Dolph picks up his projects around the characters he has to play (a baddie in Altitude, a demon hunter in DKI, comedy breakthrough in KC2, a double character in Riot ...) and even if the movies are sometimes (well, ok, maybe most of the times) questionnable, at least he picks interesting characters "on the paper" (what you read on a script and what the reality becomes differs a lot I guess), as for Danny Trejo, I think he plays anything that gives him money (as Jox explained it on another topic), and, IMHO, for good reasons too (he makes people work). The difference is in the numbers (check the imdb page of Tejo, it's impressive  ) and the quality of the characters.
But I can easily understand your point (even if i don't agree with you)

Jonathan Lipnicki, no longer the kid from JERRY MAGUIRE, STUART LITTLE and THE LITTLE VAMPIRE, is acting and credited as executive producer on it (among about 20 other producers).
