Which I just now discovered is going by Full Love and supposedly being released next year.

That's a completely different case and FULL LOVE is one of its own...

(By the way, FULL LOVE has always been the original title since Van Damme wrote the script, then it was changed to THE EAGLE PATH, then SOLDIER after the additional shoot, and then back to FULL LOVE since 2014 when the movie was completed as screened at a Shnghai festival)

I first heard of the movie when it was being promoted under the title Eagle Path.

The comparison was more to delays, even John Wayne had a movie that was held back for years while the studio chief tinkered with it endlessly. It didn't help at all.

This is one movie that I think is doomed to being a streaming only title, much like Larceny in the US.

DEAD TRIGGER has been on hold for less than a year, which is still not uncommon (especially counting the late additional photography completion).

FULL LOVE / THE EAGLE PATH has been an on-going story for 8-10 years now with particular financing, production and personality factors.

So in my opinion these two cases are not so similar or comparable.

On the other hand some of the obstacles that DEAD TRIGGER faced sound closer to the DIAMOND DOGS production.

Definitely not comparable, and a year hold is not entirely uncommon for Dolph projects it seems. It's just so many potentially interesting projects in recent years have been stuffed into a shelf with seemingly no interest in releasing them.

I tend to get a little anxious when there is a delay in film releases, when it comes to Dolph it's usually unfounded. But still, there are all sorts of movies locked away that will probably never see the light of day again.

A Hungarian release date is set October 25, and Czech sites report today that it shall be released soon over there as well...

It wouldn't be surprising they'd want to profit from the CREED II and AQUAMAN releases around the fall / winter...

Cool, thanks!

You didn't want to ask him about James Chalke's saying Dolph took over directing? (which he might have confused with DIAMOND DOGS in his story)

Nah, I thought about it, but thought that might come off as a tad disrespectful. In the end, it’s a project that it sounds like many had a hand in. Hopefully it turns out as cool as it sounds, and it sees a release soon!

It depends how you're asking, but it's choice to respond or how to respond (and it's not like it came out of nowhere).

Maybe so. It just didn't come to me at the time, nor did it seem right. Oh well. Still a fun interview regardless.
