Ah ok, that's all good. Who spends how many days on what set is not really something that interests me as it's usually pointless to speculate.

Sheldon Lettich over at the Van Damme forums speculated that Allan Ungar might be the real director, but on paper it's Pasha Patriki, because the production might not be signatory to the Directors Guild of America, which Ungar might be a member of, so he can't be the director of a non-union project without getting into trouble.

But who knows...

Interestingly enough Lettich said that's the reason he hasn't directed more DTV action movies since The Hard Corps in 2006, because rarely the productions are DGA-signatory because it's more expensive for the producers.

As I said on the VD forum, Ungar is not a member of the DGA (I checked the member directory) so the film is not a union production (which had rarely been the case on these DTV lately), and Patriki, who is a Canadian Society of Cinematographers with no directing credit, isn't either so this is not about what Lettich speculated...

Actually, from what I understood, Unger wasn't on set from Day 1. But Kilpatrick really said that he is the director ...
So my speculation: Patriki is the director, but Ungar just came for a few days to direct, because appereantly he did script revisions, and is also a producer on the movie. Or I don't know.
Fact is, we've seen posts claiming Ungar is the director, but at the same time we read that Patriki is the director (the clapboard, the IMDb credit, etc ..) And he is the DoP for sure.

On his facebook live event, Jean Claude said he was coming to the end of the shooting. :? That's not good omen for a Dolph screentime.

Well, he is still shooting, but yeah, I got the feeling at he is close to his end of filming.
And WOW, if that happens. I really don't want another Day of Reckoning situation. I mean, you have JCVD and Dolph on the same team, and Hyams couldn't make it work, like: Dolph's last day of filming to be JCVD's first day of filming, or vice versa, and have them have a scene together.
I really hope we aren't getting that with Black Water. Considering that JCVD is almost 3 weeks on set now (he was since Day 1, on 25th January).
And I will be shocked if Dolph is indeed like 3-4 days on set, but they couldn't had squeezed those days when JCVD was filming.

Oh, I imagine they'l both be on screen together, but not in the way we'd like... The conversations between characters are most likely being filmed with each actor separately and then edited together in post. Needless to say, doubt we'll be seeing them in the same shot.

As excited as I am at the prospect of another Dolph-JCVD team-up, this just doesn't look to be it.

That's even more frightening than I thought.
I mean, seeing from the on set pics that JCVD will have a shot with pretty much everyone, it would be bizzarre if Dolph is the only one he doesn't share the screen with.
Oh well ... I guess we will have to wait until the next JCVD/Dolph collaboration in 2022 or something.

Just posted in the VD forums as I have spent a few days on the film. Ungar was hired to rewrite the script but only could come for a few days. He brought in Patriki to oversee the look of the film. Dolph starts this week and Van Damme has been here almost a month. Hope this helps!
