I had the opportunity to watch AQ last week on #ccxp18 and i need to say... thanks James Wan for doing one of the most beautiful and powerful superhero movie ever, and for making me feel like a kid watching thid movie. I never watched a movie where the audience screamed so loud in so many diffents moments in a film. And I'm talking about 3.500 people in the biggest movie theater of the Latin America.

The Verdict
The glee that director James Wan clearly has playing in the world of Aquaman is infectious. He’s made a movie for both types of 10-year-olds: literal kids and those who are 10 at heart. Aquaman is one hell of a popcorn movie – a fun time and a big bet for the DC movie universe that pays off in creating an exciting new realm for future installments to hopefully explore further. Wan’s geeky epic is chock-full of ridiculous elements and, on paper, it really shouldn’t work as well as it does, but it’s all so inherently weird and brazenly bonkers that the siren call of this giddy, otherworldly romp is hard to resist.

Dolph Lundgren plays King Nereus, and carries it off reasonably well, although like every other marine character, there is the issue of hair distractingly waving and rippling in the water like seaweed.

A cast of heavyweights - Kidman, Wilson, even bloody Willem Dafoe - can't salvage dialogue that gives stilted a bad name. At least Momoa seems to be having a fun time, and has mostly dropped the tired frat boy from Justice League. Meanwhile Amber Heard and Dolph Lundgren are almost suffocated under a pair of improbably red wigs, though amazingly Lundgren looks like the most comfortable person here - clearly playing He-Man all those years ago set him up well.

The seafaring silliness is anchored by great casting and watertight performances.

Patrick Wilson is magnetic as Aryan Atlantean King Orm, who can't get over Arthur being mixed race. Alongside him, we're treated to the ludicrously enjoyable sight of Dolph Lundgren and Willem Dafoe being very serious about matters of royal succession while bobbing about on giant neon seahorses. These priceless bits of casting in such unashamedly comic-inspired capers reminded me of the 1980 camp classic Flash Gordon and its primary-colored royal romping.

I still remember when Dolph was promoting Expendables 2 he said he'd never do a comic book movie because he thought the concept was silly! My how far we've come since then. This movie might make a billion dollars globally!

“Aquaman” has set a pre-sales record for Atom Tickets, topping “Deadpool 2,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “Black Panther.”

“Clearly, ‘Aquaman’ has captured the attention of movie fans with its larger-than-life adventure that must be seen on the big screen,” Atom Tickets co-founder and chairman Matthew Bakal said.

Atom Tickets is the exclusive ticketing platform for Amazon Prime’s advance screening of “Aquaman” on Dec. 15, in addition to selling tickets for the wide release six days later amid expectations of a $65 million opening weekend in North America. Prime members can purchase up to 10 tickets through Atom Tickets for the showing at more than 1,000 Regal, AMC, ArcLight Cinemas, and National Amusements theaters.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the comic book movie Aquaman have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Bee Movie, Over the Hedge). Also included is the original song Everything I Need performed by Skylar Grey who also co-wrote the track with Elliott Taylor, a new song by Pitbull feat. Rhea, as well as a track by composer Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, December 14 by WaterTower Music. The bulk of its offshore gross — $135 million — comes from China, where it debuted a week ago to record numbers for the month of December, as well as boasting the best start ever for a DC superhero pic. And it's now earned more in China than the entire lifetime runs of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Black Panther, among other superhero titles (Marvel's Avengers movies remain the all-time champs).

On Wednesday and Thursday, Aquaman launched in additional key markets, including Russia and Brazil, both of which turned in $1.3 million. In Mexico, it swam to $1.4 million.
