He remind me the MMA fighter who plaid in 2 of the expendables

Northcutt certainly looks more like Dolph, especially when spiking his hair (maybe even too much of a clone?), but seems also a bit young or boyish (or too nice)? And more important we don't know how is his acting, and attitude on camera. The auditions were not just based on the physique and it's not a silent role, the candidates also had to perform dialogues from scenes in the script.

Apparently both Munteanu and Northcutt are represented by the same talent agency as Dolph, Adkins, Jai White, Tony Jaa, Randy Couture, and a other actors we know. In any case, there was something that took Northcutt "out of the competition" for the role.

Remember it took 6 months to cast Drago Sr., and in the final audition, Dolph won over the part because of details, and his "strong silent type" attitude that set him appart from the two remaining contestants (who according to him looked better and bigger)...

I don't have a strong opinion on this casting announcement. Like the director's choice, I'm waiting to see how it turns out with moving images.

The thing we should be prepared to is the movie release's date being pushed back (production starting march for a november release ? that's a 8 month for shooting and post production).

Certainly that for his film, Sly wanted a real boxer, what Munteanu is, whereas it is not the specialty of Northcutt

Most ROCKY movies and the first CREED had about the same timeline or less (ROCKY IV started rolling in May for the same release date, and it was a slick, big budget back then, unlike CREED which was shot like a rawer indie film, and it's not like there's tons of effects to add to the post-production workflow, so I'm not too worried.

after reading some posts here i kinda changed my opinion about casting this guy. certainly this guy looks more danderous than northcut. i'm sure it's not a big problem to correct his drago look (dying his hair etc.). though northcut looks more like dolph's son or nephew but he is too young and nice for this role.

TMZ asked Dolph about Florian Munteanu as Vitor Drago...

Hey, they actually chose a cool name for Drago Jr.! I was afraid it was gonna be something like Sergey Drago or Andrey Drago! :) Vitor is a cool name!

Here's an exclusive shot from one of Florian Munteanu's auditions with Stallone for CREED II back in November 8)
(thanks to our own Krom who's a very good friend of Munteanu's manager)

I didn't see it here, but apparently Cheo Hodari Coker (creator of Luke Cage show, writer of Lowriders and Notorious B.I.G) is writing the screenplay along with Sly.

Michael B. Jordan:
DEADLINE: And Creed 2?

JORDAN: Well, Steven Caple Jr. is going to direct it, and I’m really excited about working with him. Right now, we’re in the process of getting the script tight and making sure that it’s perfect.

DEADLINE: Have you penciled in a start date for production?

JORDAN: Not exactly sure when we’re starting, but in the next few months we’ll get back to it and try to deliver a solid project in Creed 2.

Hmm .. getting the script tight ... Any chance that the script has changed that Drago Sr. isn't in the movie?
