“Rob is an absolute comedic genius,” Burrows said. “I can’t wait to share Dolph and Nick’s brilliant performances in ‘Pups.’ Dolph gives a powerhouse performance. Couldn’t be prouder to have them in the film.”

Burrows also serves as producer for the Alex Merkin-directed film. Courtney Lauren Penn, Andre Relis and Jack Bowyer are executive producers.

Pups Alone” is in negotiation for a North American Distribution deal. VMI first introduced it to buyers at the 2020 Virtual AFM Market and will continue sales at the 2021 Virtual European Film Market during the first week of March.

Just the fact that it took 3-4 years to complete may be an indication, but in terms of the domestic rights, it seems that they waited for the movie to be ready before shopping it around since there were surprisingly no pre-sales.

It's weird how they're trying to make it seem like it's a new production when they filmed in 2017 for the most part...

Don't thank me.
Please.
I mean it.

(more seriously : the movie looks... crappy, but I guess we're not the target here. At least Dolph looks like he's having a blast).

The company who released the trailer appears to be the Australian / New Zealander distributor.

The idea is not bad, a rip-off of Home Alone with dogs. I'm almost disturbed by seeing Dolph in this but it looks like he's having fun.

Nice, the trailer basically showed the entire movie lol. It actually doesn't look as bad as i expected and indeed it looks like Dolph is having fun. Amazed they didn't show Keith David and Eric Roberts but judging by their credits on IMDb they'll probably be cameos.

If it's Saban (DEAD TRIGGER, BLACK WATER) they might release it limited theatrical and on demand, then Lionsgate would put out a disc...

Does this pretty dopey? Yes. Is this any different from what we expected when it was announced over three years ago? Nope. And does it look extremely bizarre seeing Dolph of all people in this Hallmark Christmas tale (or tail  )? Absolutely. But... As has been stated, Dolph appears to be having loads of fun here. And his acting also appears to be quite good. He seems truly invested, and evidenced by these two minutes, isn't phoning this one in.
