I couldn't find a single review or (believable) first reaction.
This doesn't smell really good.

I believe there is an embargo for reviews not to be published until tomorrow.

There were some early screenings last evening but haven't been able to go, being under the weather lately.

I saw it
It has some of the same flaws as the original, being disjointed and demanding a high level of "suspend of disbelief", so you have to take it as a big B movie medley... (and sure Wan quotes Mario Bava directly but it's a bit too simple and on the nose).

At first I was afraid Dolph would barely be seen but he has a couple of moments where he serves the story, and overall a better role than Amber Heard's. And Nicole Kidman or Temuera Morrison are not that much better served. This is really the film for Momoa, Wilson and Abdul-Mateen II (and Randall Park to some extent)...

We were about 10 people in the theater...

First day in France made 93,494 admissions (including 25,963 in Tuesday previews) against 150,003 for the first one (so 37.7% less).

I've seen a few things review wise for this online and it doesn't look good. It doesn't help that James Gunn basically binned this franchise the minute he was given the reigns at D.C.

I guess we'll find out how big of a star Momoa really is.

Jox's review might convince me... but i'll be honest, I'll prioritize latest Kore-eda's movie over this. If Aquaman is still in theater early january, i might go. :(

Don't take my words for it, my expectations were really low and if I was really honest I'd be harsh with it but I tried to only see the positive otherwise it'd be like torture... I've only seen AVATAR 1 & 2 recently and barely care for them so that's saying a lot.

That is wise and more my cup of tea

It is sad to admit that 20 years ago, we could only dream of having new DL movies in theaters, and now he's in some big movies that don't warrant enough quality or worthy performance to make us really excited to go see them...

He's still got Creed 2 to his name. I can't believe the amount of people I know that weren't even fans of the Rocky series or Dolph as a movie star who loved that movie and his performance. Hope he can still get to do some projects that are similar to Creed 2 where it's a serious role.

Conflicted. Want this to do well for Dolph's sake and to shove it up Gunn's you know what but at the same time but I'm not seeing a lot of hype for this movie anywhere on the internet other than the baked in hardcore D.C. fanbase.

Looking forward to see it this weekend. Visited theatre for TheEx4 too, because it's maybe the last time when we have a chance to see the Dolphage on the big screen. Still hope for the Drago spin off to be made.
