Unoboxing the Subkultur limited digipack edition

EDIT:

Old 2011 post:
Jox wrote:Was watching DIE HARD last night and had not realize until now that there were so many direct references to it in SILENT TRIGGER: the unfinished tower as setting (and filmed almost like its own character) obviously, the elevator shaft sequences, shooting the bad guy from under the table holding the gun with both hands the exact same way... and there's probably more.

The original script for SILENT TRIGGER (1987) pre-dates DIE-HARD, but the movie is definitely visually influenced by various films of the late 80's and early 90's (I always think of Sarah Connor running under fire against a wall of glass behind her while the SWAT team spray bullets at her in T2 when I see Gina Bellman do the same in a similar shot )...

For me Silent Trigger is almost the 70's William Friedkin version of Die Hard. Die Hard as it is, is indeed a very character based film, but Silent Trigger is an entirely ambient character film.

That's a very interesting idea, I can see SILENT TRIGGER within Friedkin's oeuvre...

You've seen Sorcerer right? Dolph's shooter lives within the same kind of purgatory that Roy Scheider does in Sorcerer.

Now that's a cool theory (bring them on if you have more, about this film or another) ! 8)

PS :
I've seen one of the first 4K screenings of the restored SORCERER with an intro by Friedkin himself (and a full evening Q&A with the man two days later): it looked a new pristine 35mm print of a recent film! I so recommend the new Blu-ray...

I've only ever seen it on TV, so I think the Blu Ray would be superb.

And here's a third German edition from Inked Pictures Label to be available September 10th.
https://www.facebook.com/31719890176366 ... =3&theater
http://www.medienversand.at/DVD/Demnaec ... ---B-.html

It's a mediabook with 2 covers (125 copies each), booklet (the in-depth "making of" I wrote?), a poster and limited card, as well as the interview I hooked up with writer Sergio Altieri... seems to be the same as the Subkultur edition.
(I recommend not to buy the Koch Media (which has a weaker HD master and no extras)
