The IMDB rating has dropped below 5, why?! This is a top notch Dolph movie, on par his other directorial efforts. Fun and witty, with high production value (and body count).

Came across this interview from when Dolph made THE DEFENDER in Romania (don't remember if we posted it back then):

I could have sworn this was on the English edition... is this a different version of the doc? I lost a great deal of DVDs fairly recently and can't check

That's a shallow Making Of even for a low budget action flick... It plays more like the intro to a Making Of.

But thanks for the upload.

Yeah I think you're right, I forgot, I don't have this one.

Of course but better than nothing, at least there's some footage on location.

Considering that back in 2004, we'd be lucky if DTVs even got a trailer as an extra, I think it's a decent little EPK.

An English-speaking review of the German Blu-ray
http://www.digital-retribution.com/revi ... fender.php
I think I mentioned that The Defender is not a high budget film? This is a decent transfer given the film's budget, and occasionally the print looks very good. Grain can get heavy and is always noticeable, and the detail levels waiver. There is also some noise, colour oversaturation and some black crush. For what it is, it's acceptable. The audio comes in English or German 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio mixes. The English track has a little more bass and depth, but there're no subs for the movie so non-English speaking German's will have to watch the lesser quality dub. There're a few moments of distortion, which may be a fault on the source. The movies has choppers flying past, loud explosions and quite a few gun shots, and this is a good track if you like your movies loud.

Can't believe it's been 10 years already since Dolph was directing THE DEFENDER.

I like this movie. It used to be broadcasted on Russian TV many times.

Dolph looks like Dennis Leary in this film.

Looking through Maxime Alexandre filmography, I was wondering how he got involved in the movie, as it was his first american movie, and his 3 movie overall as a DP. I was wondering if Dolph did choose him, or if he was involved under Furie supervision, or because of the french producers. :)
