I have seen this movie a lot lately for sale in very mainstream places. I saw it at Big Lots for $3, the other day I saw it at the grocery store for $10, and tonight I saw it for sale at the airport for$25 and they had a prominent display of it.

I watched it when I got back from the airport and I really think this is one of Dolph's best films in recent years. I just didn't like that it didn't have a happy ending.

:?: :? He's not dancing with the monks at the end and everybody around him died but that's quite common for a Dolph movie. The point was also that the artifact was cursed and kills them one by one until it's brought back to good hands in a safe place.

I just meant it would have been nice to see him end up with the girl. I wonder what the Dolph cut would have been. I guess we will never know.

Actually she was always meant to die, in the initial script there was a whole lot more of intrigue and subplot and at the climax they're the only ones alive, there's some paranoid thing going on and they face each other in a mexican stand off, she gets greedy and also dies somehow (don't remember exactly gotta read it again).

Maybe the ending used is better I guess. Either way I still think Diamond Dogs is pretty good and I really think it is one of Dolph's best in recent years. I wish people would be more open-minded about it. It has gotten a lot of bad reviews.

Must admit mate, it does get a little more stick than it deserves, considering the conditions, but it would have been nice if the producers paid for Dolph's cut, which I guarantee would have been slicker and the ending was very anti-climatic. That's the case in a lot of DTV movies, at anti-climatic ending. Can't say that's the case in Missionary Man or The Defender or Mechanik, however Dolph kinda always ends up shooting the bad guy in his self-directed efforts instead of for example an explosion or something, but it's always nice to kill the bag guy, more hands-on. The Command Performance ending is quite good I guess.

You know, even Dolph's cut could only improve the movie so much, and only using the footage shot available, so it wouldn't have been so drastically different, just a little more classy and polished as much as it could be...

I know dude, people are under the impression that you can work miracles in editing, you can improve it to a certain extent but the footage must be there to begin with.

I still say Diamond Dogs is a pretty good film despite its flaws. I would like to see Dolph playing an adventuring type a little more often.

I wouldn't even mind a sequel to this film.

There was originally meant to be a sequel called Tumbling Dice, but probably because of the way it turned out, Dolph opted out of it. Check the cancelled projects page on the site and you'll find out more about it dude. Sounded quite good, but then so did the original plot for Diamond Dogs.

Yeah, I saw that. It is a shame because I like him as this character. There was something really charming about him in this role.

I just opened my DVD of Diamond Dogs and saw it today, well here we go, i think this movie had great locations it surelly was fresh and new, something different which i liked very much about it.
This movie had great potential to be much better but seems like the director did not catch the scenes that well and the thing that really ticked me off the most is the amateurish camera man which shakes the camera alot as if there is an earthquake and seems to miss the characters heads in some scenes, i think i could have done alot better.

I still liked this movie, this was a good role for Dolph and like many other movies he has done, he is always the only A- class actor while everyone else is B- class or C- class.
I like his character, he is funny and made me laugh in some scenes, i like the terrain where Ronson as to travel, very rocky and mountainous, hopefully in a couple years Dolph will do something like this again different locations, adventurous maybe this time treasure hunting somewhere in Asia again or South America

I don't know why but i feel like watching this movie again, i would have liked to see Ronson again in Tumbling Dice, but this time directed by Dolph or Ringo Lam.

I would like to see Dolph direct Tumbling Dice, the plot sounded really good. Jox, do you know what has actually happened to the script and if Moonstone or anyone owns it, or have the rights gone back to the screenwriter or something? Or am I just talking complete shit?
