US fans: Storm Catcher at Target for $5.49!

Just saw it today. Its quite a bargain, I haven't even seen it in stores before now. Pick up your copy while you can!

Does anybody know if the US widescreen version of this with the commentary is hidden region two playable, like the Columbia editions of Jill The Ripper and Agent Red are? Or is it locked to region one?

Good question, I had no idea the others were, I have a multi-region player so I couldn't tell...

I haven't read too many positive reviews for this movie, which I find quite odd. I think this one is a true gem as a previous poster said, and thus in my opinion it is a very underrated movie. Sure, there are better special effects in other movies from that time period, but that's not what's important. Dolph makes a solid performance and I was entertained throughout the movie, except for the girl who played the part of his wife.

I iactually liked Storm Catcher, i agree that his wife in the movie wasn't a great actress, but i have noticed that happens in many Dolph movies, Dolph just doesn't have a decent female co-star.

Just look at the females in the peacekeeper, Black Jack, Storm Catcher, The last Patrol, agent red, hidden agenda. All the females are more like D category actresses, really bad acting, they are only good looking but no talent in acting.

I just saw this on DVD (saw it years ago on VHS). Storm Catcher is not a good film and Dolph looks old and skinny in it but it was cool to see him as a pilot with some cool airplanes.

I really don't get your standards, if Dolph looks skinny I would probably look invisible to you. Don't even bring up the age thing, you can say he looked tired, but he certainly didn't not look old 10 years ago. It seems Los Angeles cheesy values about always looking good and forever young has tainted on you

Dolph looked like a god when he was younger and that was a lot of his appeal for people. He didn't seem to keep up his appearance as he got older and I think that is a lot of the reason people lost interest in him.
He doesn't really look like the same guy that I grew up with.

He looked perfect in Showdown in Little Tokyo.

I think he looks already surreal as he is, I'm glad he's down to earth and keeping it real, natural and he's not trying to fake it even more by doing surgery or shit like that (look at it's done to Sly, his face his way worse than before).

I don't think it has anything to do with the loss of interest from people who weren't that into him anyway and they just didn't care about him or his movies.

I didn't mean surgery. I just meant keep in top shape for his movies.

He keeps it up believe me, you just can't expect anybody to keep the same body.

It gets hard as you get older.

He looked pretty damn good in Retrograde...his body and he had a pretty cool hairstyle.

You can look tough and ripped even at 60 but the price is that the catch you with forbidden substances at airports, and while growth hormones help getting nice musles, they also can do some weird things to your face and other body parts. So yes, he looked like a god in the nineties, really super-human, but nowadays he looks more realistic. I won't say that I like todays looks more but you can't turn back time. And I suspect that back then he was under Sly's influence and maybe also took some little helpers, because such a tall man has to build a *lot* of muscle mass to look like that. So it may have looked better back then, but today is healthier, more normal (still awesome shape) and a better role model.

Having said that, I think I have to re-watch Red Scorpion and 300 soon.

Apart from his wife's acting and some very cheap moments (soldiers with rubber guns, come on...) I think this movie had a great direction, some solid action scenes and I really liked the Sparks character. Apart from this I probably wouldn't watch it a second time that quick, because I have to admit I sometimes found it hard to stay awake.
