It's a generic low budget action flick but thanks to the chops of director Anthony Hickox (HELLRAISER III, WAXWORK etc) there's some pretty cool moments that I particularly dig and where Dolph is pretty good too: the one on one interrogation scene with the general, the eerie moment at the end of the house shootout after his wife gets stabbed (choir music, dissolves on the gunshots from low camera angle) and the awesome ER hospital scene (frantically shot and edited with variations of film speed), very simple tricks for effective effective effects. And the score is pretty cheesy yet fun at times. It's not a great movie but yet I find it 100 times better than AGENT RED and shows you how a competent director can make the difference.

This is one of the sequences I thought were nicely done for no budget because it had some texture to it.

Love the end of the shooting after his wife got stabbed, filmed in low angle and nicely edited with those fadings, though Hickox is right in the commentary when he says it can be read as gun apology. The 'religious'-like score makes it sound very dramatic though and I like the fact that there is no cutaways to the guys shot. Then the hospital scene with the masterspiece/Oscar winning sequence of the whole movie, makes you think Dolph would do good in a piece like BRINGING OUT THE DEAD if directed by Scorcese or any decent director with "balls"

IMO I think Dolph looks good in this movie :) He doesn't look old...just mature :)

Since my friend's apparently to lazy to register on this board herself, she forc'd me to ask this question for her: Does the French release of Storm Catcher have the English audio track? 'N' what's the aspect ratio?

I can't believe that she really wants to waste money for this...flick.

If I remember, the French release does have the English audio but is 4/3...

The only one that's widescreen is the American Sony version of the film (FOX re-released it in 4:3). However, it's possible that, like Jill Rips and Agent Red, that Sony made the DVD region 0. I will find out for you if I can.

Thanks, but don't waste your time. It's my friend who wants that damn DVD, so I don't care much 'bout the aspect ratio.

Does that make it the THIRD time the suit was used in film? Twice by Dolph as well? Amazing considering Dolph is so much taller than the VOYAGER actor...

They had two guys in suit remember?

And another one with Stephen Badlwin!

Well it comes from a rental company specialized in space suits costumes and stuff so.. I remember seeing them interviewed in a SFX TV show where he pointed out SC's suit. But I believe it's fairly authentic.

I believe that is Adam Baldwin(no relation to the Baldwin brothers) from the TV series "Firefly". But he is 6'4", so he most likely is wearing Dolph's suit.
