This ended up being the poster of the film in most territories but it was designed before a screenplay was written (they just had a short synopsis and back in 1998)!

By the way, I never thought about THE ROCK with STORM CATCHER (and I haven't seen THE ROCK more than once or twice) is there other similarities than the Ed Harris / Robert Miano's characters connection?

I'd have to question one of the two writers that I interviewed, from his reminiscence the influence when they got the writing gig came from Eastwood's FIREFOX primarily but surely more recent films would have given them ideas whether it was conscious or not.

In France, Metropolitan is now carrying STORM CATCHER for VOD (and widescreen unlike the VHS)

I didn’t even think of FIREFOX, but I can see it now most definitely. Regarding if it was a conscious decision, considering that the villain in CATCHER is pretty much exactly the same as Ed Harris in THE ROCK (not to mention with the same character motivation), as well as the fact that he quoted the EXACT Thomas Jefferson speech that Harris did, I’m saying yes... I think the writers were perfectly aware of what they were going for!

Okay I'll have to watch it again then, or at least this part! (I admit I never felt much interest or connection with THE ROCK)

On this months special interview episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with General William Jacobs himself, legendary character actor, Robert Miano! We chat STORM CATCHER, DONNIE BRASCO, and the art of being a character actor! Enjoy!

A few years later back in 2004, Miano was cast in the unproduced Lundgren/Sidney Furie project THE CONTROLLER (which Nu Image/Millennium replaced in distribution sales by THE MECHANIK).
