is this worth it? Anamorphic?

Yes it's a decent anamorphic widescreen edition (maybe even OAR 1.85:1, have to check more carefully). 8)

You know Charlotte Le Bon, the up and coming French/Canadian star from ASTERIX and YVES SAINT LAURENT? She's the daughter of Brigitte Paquette who plays Connie (Dolph's associate and probably former lover).

One of the underrated films of the early 2000s.

He had a bit of a shaky start to the 2000's, as did every other action star, mostly thanks to The Matrix but in part due to the fact the 90's was over. This is probably his best overall film from 2000 - 2004, with the exception of The Defender I guess. I kinda liked the MTV style editing in places, a few kicks he hasn't brought out since, good twist at the end, find looking chick in it, fun opening sequence. I'd like to see him do another kinda thriller/conspiracy/shadowy government type flick, something like Seagal's The Foreigner which to me had an interesting plot and was shot nicely but chunks of it were just shit.

I always liked Hidden Agenda. It's smarter than people give a movie like this credit for and I thought the DOP did a great job.

It's difficult to hate on HIDDEN AGENDA. It looks great and goes for a more intelligent, sophisticated angle. It just becomes too convoluted for its own good and hampered down by its low budget.

Certain still shots almost make it look like an eerie sequence from Russell Mulcahy's awesome RAZORBACK:
(even though this kind of back lighting became typical in the 80s)

The underrated HIDDEN AGENDA is 15 years old already (and was shot a year earlier)...

HIDDEN AGENDA will receive a new Japanese DVD edition apparently sourced from an HD master (out July 28)
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B071RXYD3V/

Would be cool if it got released on Blu-ray, HIDDEN AGENDA was a welcomed surprised when it came out in 2001-2002 (on the tale of the outdated THE LAST PATROL and AGENT RED) and is really underrated. It may not be as strong as other "classics", but it's still is a commendable lower budget effort. I wish writer Les Weldon's script for DIRECT CONTACT was as "sophisticated" and less run-of-the-mill...

It's wild how some of these overseas DVD covers list it as being in the type of Enemy of the State and Spy Game, even though I think it pre-dates the latter. Overall, I can understand the loose comparisons and marketing game.
