alex.sp89 wrote:Recently I watched this movie uncut on some channel, it was in HD quality, 100 minutes long in PAL SPEED UP( which is equal to 104 minutes in NTSC). According to the distributor film company, at the beginning titles, the transfer was made by DARO Film Distribution !!! DARO already released Best of the Best 1-V 3 years ago on UK blu ray !!! Job was decent, in PAL also !!! I think soon we'll get THE SHOOTER from them on blu ray too

That would be great to get the uncut version on Blu-ray. With 15 additional minutes, the movie makes much more sense and feels less run-of-the mil action vehicle. The project was intended to be more character-based and that's why everybody from Dolph to Ted Kotcheff and Maruschka Detmers had signed on. Not surprised the Weinstein's just literally wanted to "cut to the chase" and action...

What was the channel that showed the 100 min version in 1080i HD?

Sorry i can't upload the screenshot in it's entire resolution because of the policy restriction size of pic on this site, i zoomed it out and used Paint to reduce it in size !!!
But screenshot include a deleted scene that is featured only in uncut version !!! it is the cemetery scene, where Dolph is coming at his mother grave !! ist is for the first time in widescreen

The german release features the long version widescreen in SD.

PS: Indeed we can lo longer post attachments, I have to ask if we can do something about that (I don't manage the technical side if the forum)

The German UNCUT blu ray is awful , VHS QUALITY, even if it is in widescreen !!! U know t better that me- look caps a holic page under The Shooter (1995) title !!! The version aired on MOZI + is in HD, as i told transfer was made by DARO FILM DISTRIBUTION. I even saw that someone recorded it and uploaded it (reduced the size of picture quality) somewhere on net some time ago !!! need to search it and post the link if the policy of the site allow that ?

Deleted scene?

During my recent visit to the Academy Awards library, I was able to read the production screenplay, a rewrite by the renown Billy Ray dated from July 1994 (2-3 months before filming). It was pretty close from the final film... Except that Michael Dane's past was better explored and explained, partly through flashbacks of the traumatic last days of his childhood in Czechoslovakia -- and also the final climax which was much shorter, with less action, but a more rounded ending in terms of his mission as U.S. Marshall...

I even wonder if this either a deleted bit, or a behind the scenes shot between takes...

The extended version (104 min) is now available in HD on Amazon Prime Japan
https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B085MR9WB1

The longer cut is the only one Ted Kotcheff knew about until I spoke to him...
