And while I admire his humbleness, he didn't push enough to get better directors and studios unlike Van Damme did. That's what he needed (and still needs now sometimes).

I agree. He always does bad choices. Just look at what he did right after the first Ex, InTheNameOfTheKing. He mostly thinks about money than a movie itself. Quick paychecks = bad movies.

I wouldn't just put it that way.

I put it as one of the reasons him not being as big as he could have been. Not the only reason. He always has a big bad luck on his head while making a movie. Who knows maybe it's because he thinks there's lots of gods, not only one. And the God got angry and damned him. )

Today I've come across this bluray with Pentathlon (titled "The Escape"), The Shooter and two old Stallone movies for 10 or 15 Euro. http://www.bluray-disc.de/blu-ray-filme/sylvester-stallone-vs-dolph-lundgren-collection-blu-ray-disc. Should have brought it but was too undecided. But overall it was remarkable how many Dolph movies they had in their relatively small movie department. BoR, The Package, Ex1+2, this one and maybe more (I didn't take the time to check everything.) Obviously his movies still sell pretty well.

Good or bad but in the US I've always seen a lot of Dolph movies for cheap, from the $5 bin at Wal-Mart to a $5 3 pack at the grocery store, Dolph titles are a quality and economic addition to any library.

It's not exactly an upscale but it's probably made from an HD master initially meant for TV or to be down-converted to make DVDs. It may not be the greatest Blu but it's still decent, especially for a title like PENTATHLON that I wouldn't even have thought it'd make it to Blu-ray.

One of the rare magazine articles ever published on PENTATHLON, with a report from the set, in POWERHOUSE, Fall 1993

I think the guy on his left is either Mike Gostigian or Rob Stull, both members of the US pentathlon team who coached and helped Dolph during the production, and later vouched for him to be the team leader at the '96 Atlanta Olympics (in an effort to bring back the sport into the spotlight and avoid its disappearance from the games).
