Well, the trailer got me excited for this new cut : i'm not the biggest Rocky IV fan (that robot  ), and I'm trusting Stallone to have a new look on that movie. This trailer seems to ephasize the emotional angle, which is ok for me. I'm looking forward to it.

If they made it from newly scanned-in-4K footage that makes sense.
What you can also tell is that the color grading is a bit different, darker than the previous DVD and Blu-ray editions it seems.

Yeah it's definitely a little different. Curious if that's how it was originally or if someone else did the grading and decided to make it different. If they did scan it to 4k I hope they actually release it in 4k as well.

Don't worry I believe Stallone cut the robot.

What's for sure is that it was mandatory to redo a complete color grading to integrate the additional (raw) footage in.

Trailer looks great. It looks they recut the entire movie from top to bottom. it is not just adding extra scenes. They used different angles, takes. I was right that Stallone wants to make it more emotional this time. I compared some scenes from theatrical version version to clips from the trailer--they are more emotional for sure especially during Apollo -Rocky conversations, relation between them closer to family relative member.Musis is redone- more modern sound. I am wondering how they reworked Vince DiCola score.

This version is in the vein of recent Creed movies (in my opinion) One more thing i noticed before - how beautiful looks a movie when it is shot on film - different experience than this digital era today. WIDESCREEN LOOKS GREAT. I guess Rocky 5 could be next on list since we have director's cut online in bad workprint quality circulating for years among the fans. Rocky 5 DC is much superior than the released version. Story follow, editing, takes, music more coherent. Tommy Gun is more a likeable guy who has feelings and aspiration who get caught in hands of that bad promoter. In released version he is a bad guy from top to bottom

This is an EP presentation for physical music collectors and fans of Vince DiCola. The program runs just over 20 minutes but is priced to reflect this.

EDIT:
Vince DiCola:
Hello fans and friends,
Many of you have reached out asking if my Rocky IV: The Symphonic Rock Suite will ever be available. I'm happy to report at long last you can pre-order it today. It was one of the greatest pleasures of my life to be able to perform it with the CPMTFE-CSMC Fimucité Youth Symphony Orchestra at the 13th Annual Fimucité Festival in Tenerife Spain in 2019. I have to thank from the bottom of my heart my friends Diego Navarro, Pedro J. Mérida & Ana Molowny for helping us get this out as well as Kenny for mastering this to make it sound fantastic. And thank you to Bryon Davis & Peter Hackman at Notefornote Music. This album will be up digitally to coincide with the new Rocky IV Director's Cut on November 12th. I have agreed to sign the first 50 CD orders in case you are interested in getting a signed copy.
