I picked up the Rocky and Apollo figures today - the figures based on the first Rocky movie have just been released (in the UK, anyway). The likenesses are pretty good, and Rocky even came with a red/yellow cloth robe with the 'Shamrock Meats Inc.' label on its back, which was a nice touch. The series are being released more or less monthly, so expect the Rocky IV series, and yes, the Drago figure, to hit shelves around January...

This is great... but what is this...

Please folks have a look at the third pic. In the very right corner of the picture there's an action figure that looks like "Batista" the Wrestler!
Did I miss any scenes or is Batista going to take place in the 6th Rocky movie???
In hope for someone who could replace the real Dolph one day if he's (hopefully not as soon) out of business...

Dolph promoting Rocky IV

Postby Craigie-Boy on 13 Dec 2006, 04:20

Found this link on totalrocky.com, which shows Dolph being interviewed about his being chosen for Rocky. It features a few anecdotes, such as his being initially rejected for being 'too tall', and also shows the dolly shot from the teaser trailer where he introduces himself to the audience. Oh yeah, check out the end of the clip for a different take on that dolly shot...

Most of it is fairly poor quality, but it's still watchable.

FYI what you call a "dolly shot" is not one but a "pan up" and this one might be done handheld or even on a jib (small crane) but you can't get the camera that low with a dolly...

Whoops, my bad. Yeah, sorry, I know what a dolly shot is, but I guess at that time in the morning, I just got kinda mixed up. Won't happen again! :D

Pics of Dolph at the world premier of Rocky Balboa. He was there with Sly, Bruce, and Arnold amongst other.

sweet... I think it's been a long time since he's been seen attending a Hollywood premiere... but that is also kinda pissing me off because I have been living there for almost two years until 4 months ago, I have seen quite a few premieres happening and now that Dolph is there, I'm not!

also check out the video

The modern days western is been talking about is called "MISSIONARY MAN", he's casting now to shoot it next year!

Man if all goes right, 2007 will be one the busiest year for Dolph as he would bring us three movies he would have directed: "Tumbling Dice", "Double or Nothing" and "Missionary Man"! Now I'm lost to know when and what will he actually shoot first...

I really hope they get a good cast in MM. Filming in America helps too, seeing as there's a lot of big name stars based in the US who could add class to the project. Madsen, Roberts for example.

It's interesting that Dolph is doing MM for Sony (even though they're probably handling the distribution only) because my friend (who works for Steven) mentioned to me a few months ago that Sony cancelled their contract with Steven Seagal because they were disappointed by the result his recent slate...
