Angelique, no he didn't do it himself. He just scanned the pages from a magazine. In Japan, some movies are publicized much more than they are in Europe/America, and they sometimes get special magazines made specifically about the movie. This is one of them.

I bought a magazine a while back with some photos of the first few series of figures, covering the first 3 Rocky films. I'll get around to scanning them and I'll put a few up here for you guys.
Also, it turns out that the release of the figures is being timed to coincide with the new Rocky movie. The Rocky V figures should be released around a month or so before the new film opens, at which time figures based on that film will also be released.

Awesome, that looks better than the version I had. I do have some videos and interviews I have not seen elsewhere. Can anyone upload to youtube?

Natasha Bedingfield?!?
Surely you jest. :D

Anyhow, here's a pic of the Apollo and Rocky figures from the series based on the first movie. I'll post one of Drago when I find it - shouldn't be too much longer. And I've recently learned that a second Rocky toyline is in the works, which is reputedly featuring more articulation and better likenesses of the actors. In addition, another series is planned, this time featuring the characters in MiniMate form. For the benefit of those who don't know, MiniMates are super-deformed, 2-inch high figures made by Art Asylum. Again, I'll post pics if I find any...

Wow, how cheesy is that. ;-) Only little kids are interested in those toys, right? And todays kids most probably never heard of Rocky before. I doubt that it's a big success.
