I can't believe you're at ICARUS already, seems like yesterday that you started the podcast!
Regarding the look of the film, indeed this was the first DL film to be shot in digital (if we don't count US REGENERATION), DIRECT CONTACT and COMMAND PERFORMANCE were still filmed on 35mm film. And for ICARUS they chose the Panavision Genesis camera which was probably not as good as the RED.
Also, Dolph and his DP had intended to give the film a darker, more "film noir" look with the color grading, but that never happened since we know the movie was taken away and completed by the producers...
