Also if Sony/Nu Image see that he is making decent movies and successful movies with the budget they are providing, they might not see any reason to increase it.

Exactly, actually the reasoning for DTV/low budget genre movies would be/is rather "the previous one was successful so we can make the next one for less and sell it for more/make more profit". It seems there's actually few cases when you can get more money, either it's a big blockbuster and the sequel has to offer way more, or you're and upcoming director and your film was a surprise success made for no money...

I've generally found that Van Damme, Seagal and Dolph's budgets have went down since they hit DTV. I know Dolph made some DTV movies in the mid/late 90's of course, but they all had reasonable budgets and production values. I think if we see a slight resurgence in their popularity they could have their budgets increased. Although they definately do try to make it for as little as possible and I've noticed the same as you Jox, as soon as you expect the budget to go up after a sizeable rental hit, it actually goes down. Especially in this time of the financial crisis I think the last thing Sony/Nu Image would want to do is take a risk increasing the budget for a DTV movie, cutting corners more than before is more like it. In saying that, Command Peformance certainly looks like it has the potential to become a cult classic and one that the distributor should take a risk on. It's an interesting premise and a great look judging by the pics and trailers. I hope that Icarus can be great too and become another stylish, violent thriller. Yes, I did stick that last line in because I was going rapidly off-topic...

Actress Lindsay Maxwell has been cast for the part of "April"
I don't know if it's a main character or not. She seems too young to play his wife, and maybe too old to be his daughter :?

Paul Lazenby is at least involved with the stunts

Starts lensing tomorrow apparently.

Lensing is considered to mean principal photography, so Jox has indeed used the right analogy.

I have a feeling after Dolph is done filming Icarus and Expendables that he will take a long break, and will not start a new movie until 2010. The big guy must be tired and needs a break to spend more time with his family.
