I liked this one enough that I just ordered the DVD off of Amazon. I think this could have been a cult classic if he would have did it when he was young.

He is getting a little old for this type of movie but it is a typical Dolph film, and by that I mean it gives you pretty much everything you would want or expect in a Dolph film.

It is a pretty good old-fashioned action film.

That is a pretty awesome trailer. Way better than the official trailer.

I finally got around to watching the whole version of this on Netflix. Putrid mess. The editing is just awful and the storytelling aspect goes by so quickly that by the eight minute mark, we can just shut off our brains and watch the poor action.

I really think this is Dolph's best in recent years even though it is full of plot holes and Dolph seems to be showing his age.

So I'm hearing mixed reviews about this film... some of you guys seem to love it, and others, not so much. I've been thinking about buying the DVD online to see it for myself - do you reckon it's worth getting?

Don't pay too much for it dude. Dolph's in pretty good shape, he still moves quite good in the fights, he rocks some nice guns and there are a few original and well-filmed explosions. You can tell his hearts not in it though. There's shit loads of stock footage everywhere, but if you can get by it and not notice it...it's still Dolph.

I say buy a good, cheap used copy off of Amazon. It is a very entertaining flick but I do agree that Dolph doesn't look too into it. I think it is about the best you could hope from a Dolph movie though. Plenty of action with some humor.

I reckon Command Performance is better Travis, you get the action and it's better directed, the lighting is better as well as the editing and the humour is there also. A lot of the action in Direct Contact came from tonnes of other movies, which is a shame because the action that is original is fun enough. I don't know why they felt the need to take entire car chases from other movies because it didn't add anything to it. The movie is a bit of a mess in my opinion, but the last fifteen minutes of solid action filmed for the movie are decent.

The car chase they DID film is awful. They sped up all footage of a speed-limit chase scene with a double on motorcycle and the footage even has that quick jumpy look to it, plus the bystanders in the background are walking ridiculously fast and the tank shooting the missle has to be one of the funniest things ever.

I cannot get out of my mind how terrible the editing was in the football field scene. That shootout should've lasted all of 5 second but instead went for 50, plus they recycled shots for the sake of Dolph racking up a bodycount. Had this been filmed and edited right, it would've worked, but of course....

...dreck.

I liked Direct Contact better than Command Performance. There is a ton of silly stuff in Direct Contact but some of that adds to the fun. Besides, you can't have too high of expectations on Dolph films. He is not known for quality films but you just have to look at them as good fun and keep in mind the film-makers did the best with what they had. Sometimes the mistakes make these little films more interesting. I think Direct Contact is Dolph's best since Direct Action. I just wish they could put a picture on the cover from the right movie. It seems like his cover pictures are always one movie behind.
