R.I.P. Danny Lerner, who just passed away yesterday.

Danny was not only Avi Lerner's brother, he executive produced many of the Nu Image/ Millennium films, partnered with Les Weldon (with whom he produced DC and COMMAND PERFORMANCE), and directed a few, from TRAITOR'S HEART written by the BRIDGE OF DRAGONS writer and starring Bryan Genessee, to DIRECT CONTACT and COOL DOG.

Dolph first worked with him as a producer and second unit director on SWEEPERS shot in August/September 1997 and then BRIDGE OF DRAGONS which he produced in 1998.

I met him on DC and some of the EXP movies, and found him a very nice person no matter what.

He was very much into classical music according to Steve Edwards (composter of BRIDGE OF DRAGONS, DIRECT CONTACT and many others including Adkins' NINJA films).

Here are words from Isaac Florentine from FB:
With deep sadness we are bidding farewell today to Danny Lerner - A unique man with a unique soul. A friend and a colleague.
Danny was a free thinker, never letting any "fashionable flavor of the day" influence his mind. Once he believed in something or someone, he fought for them passionately. He was a strong person, honest, with unmovable mind, straight shooter, a modest hard working person.
I was lucky to have him as my producer in several movies. He always appreciated the hard working movie crews, keeping no distance from them, always letting them feel that he's a part of them and that they can approach him to speak their mind, no matter who they are - And they all loved him for that.
I will miss Danny, his sense of humor and his warm smile.
Rest in Peace!

A pic I took of Michael Paré and DP Ross Clarkson during my set visit:

(Just posted on my Twitter to say the rumor that he was considered for THE PUNISHER is only an urban legend...)

Very cool behind the scenes pics and video. Its a shame this film was way more junky with the stock footage but in some odd ways that sort of makes for fun nostalgia.

Michael Pare is a pro-Trump guy so that's good.

I'm not sure whether you're being sarcastic or serious Travis but in either case, I don't see how relevant it is here, or to bring up politics anyway... :?

Being serious. Makes me respect Pare more. Most of Hollywood is very anti-Trump. Forget coming out as gay, it takes real bravery for a celebrity to come out as a Trump supporter.

Jox wrote:Hey guys, I guess now is the time to tell you the good news: your webmaster (yes I!) flew yesterday to Sofia and just spent one day on the set of "Direct Contact"!

So let me just tell you that DC should deliver the goods! For those who wished there was more action in MM well this movie will be for you! DC is a straight forward, tongue in cheek, non-stop action flick with your share of hand to hand fights, shootouts, explosions, military jeeps and helicopter... and of course all old-school style! So far so good, what I saw today looked great, if it cuts together correctly this should be fun...

And Dolph is obviously in great shape and in a great mood. He makes sure everybody's doing good and comfortable (including me)!

So stay tuned for some good stuff to come out of this!
