I was visiting the set 9 years ago and shot this with a small camera (should have asked for a pro):

Unleashed on this day in 2008:

This is how I had written the teaser concept in my proposal for the official website:

I meant it to be shot as a separate dolly shot during the filming of the concert, Dolph actually made a few days before principal photography started (and of course added the punchline and gunshot)...

Another one from with Steve Latshaw:
BK: What was it like working with Dolph Lundgren on Command Performance?

SL: No short answer for this. Dolph is smart, funny, generous and a talented writer and director. I originally met him in 2000 when I wrote – un-credited – additional scenes for an action film he’d done called Agent Red. I met him again through Andrew Stevens, when I was asked to help rewrite his film Missionary Man. I read the script, gave him my notes and told him he’d be wasting his money hiring me. The script was almost there. He didn’t need me. A year later we met in LA. He gave me three treatments and asked me to pick which one I wanted to do with him. I read three very detailed screen stories and picked Command Performance. We worked on the script together for about a year. I did a draft, then he did a draft, back and forth until we got it where we wanted. It was a great experience.

New month and a new episode is here! Jumping a tad ahead in the filmography of Dolph, this time chatting D’s FOURTH starring-directing gig, 2009’s COMMAND PERFORMANCE. In this episode I was fortunate to have an actual rocker join the show to chat all the musical mayhem — Jeremiah Ludemann from the band, No Bueno! joined me to discuss the rock ‘n roll / action epic! Enjoy!

Does anyone know if the famous COMMANDE PERFORMANCE's teaser would be available in HD somewhere. I suppose the scene hasn't been shot in SD definition so it might be possible to get the file in 1080p, isn't it ?

Great question!

The teaser was initially filmed in Super 35 mm (as the film was), and it sort of served as a camera test, a few days away from principal photography.

At the time its use was mainly as a demo and for the website, so it was mainly used in SD. The problem is that as for the website, I don't think it was handled properly in the sense that it remained a bit confidential because it was made on Dolph's request, and the people at Nu Image dealing with the material deliveries either weren't aware of it or didn't bother clearing it so I don't know if there was a proper HD transfer that was mastered, or if it was properly archived. I'd have to check-in with the editor again but I remember there was some kind of issue when French distributor Seven 7 inquired about it to include it in their release...

Thank for the detailed response

Aside from the French re-titled COMMANDO D'ELITE edition which doesn't have the teaser on disc, do we know if the US or even the German editions got it ? Cause I've got only the French edition in HD.

Like Nu Image didn't want to share it or it was like lost and no one cares ?

No DVD or Blu-ray edition include the teaser trailer, which only appeared publicly on Youtube and the official website.

Something in between, mostly lack of communication between everyone I guess... Just like they paid me to do the website but they didn't seem to have communicated much about it to the distributors or even included the URL in the credits block of the trailer... I was fairly green back then but had I known I might have pushed more so that Dolph made sure they valorised them.
