The Japanese title, バニシング・レッド, means "Vanishing Red".

Hi everyone!
I have been holding of on buying this movie on blu ray knowing it's the shorter version. I grew up with the Australian VHS rental and I own the Artisan unrated Dvd.
Does anyone know if there a good chance will see the unrated version come to Bluray or is it a rare print or something?
Since they included the longer ending on the shout factory and German releases only as a extra and in standard definition makes me think there won't be a HD unrated release.

Indeed, now that MGM is licensing a beautiful HD master of the R-rated version, I don't see a lof of chances to have the extended cut being remastered and released...
I too prefer and have first seen the unrated cut when it was released in French cinemas. If you'd like a non-HD widescreen version of it though, send me a PM...

Good evening, I never seen this Joshua Tree. Shame on me... Would like to buy the best edition in bluray (or dvd if it's uncut). Is it the NSM one ? Love the cover. Merci.

The Shout Factory (US) and Nameless Media (not NSM, Germany) editions are of equal quality for the film (R-Rated, not but not extended version), and include the same extras.

Released theatrically on this day 25 years ago in France. (67 screens; 29 in Paris & suburbs)

I was finishing a sport summer camp and had to wait 2 days until I returned to the Paris area to go see it...!
I returned to the big screen once or twice more before it quickly disappeared after grossing about $1 million.
The sole big screen presentation of the extended cut with the downbeat ending (other theatrical releases had the other version)
