I watched Double Impact the other day, and it's funny how some action scenes feel like "rehearsal" for Joshua Tree (like the factory shootout). There's clearly a Vic Armstrong's print on DI. Can't wait to watch JT again next week :D (and enjoy the bonus materials 8) ).

Armstrong sometimes sometimes brags that he would have "co-directed" DOUBLE IMPACT, something Sheldon Lettich doesn't agree with...

Speaking of DOUBLE IMPACT, I just found this which I had never heard before
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/jea ... 36714.html
Van Damme claims his own agent and lawyer were conspiring behind his back to cast a different client of theirs, Dolph Lundgren, as his twin so that they would earn twice as much money from contracts.

EDIT 2: Sheldon Lettich responded:
Never heard that, and I don't believe a word of it. It was always Van Damme playing both brothers. Always. What's true in that interview, however, is that the production company, Stone Group, was trying to siphon money away from our budget to give to their other movie, "Stone Cold." And Jean-Claude did throw a papaya at production executive Charles Layton; I saw it, I was in the room.

So I watched the BR yesterday. It's nice to see the movie in good conditions. I never saw the "non french" edit before, it's kinda weird (and I don't think it works as well as the ending I always saw*). I just saw a small portion of the bonus materials, but they sound promising :)

* I think the small scene of the deputy discovering the CCTV footages is quite useful to understand Seped at the end, a shame it's not in this cut.

I've been thinking about getting the new French Blu-Ray but van anyone clarify to me what 2 versions are on it? I know the unrated version is on there in SD but is the HD version the R-rated cut or the version that was on the previous French DVD? Also are the French subtitles forced or can they be turned off on the English track?

The HD version is the R-rated cut. I haven’t got my copy to check yet but normally you can turn off the French subs.

Tnx for the info! I assume the unrated cut is in 16:9 and not in 4:3 like the US DVD? Often you can turn them off but I've owned/looked into a few ESC editions before and those were forced on the English track.

Yes, it is presented in its original 2.35:1 aspect ratio and 16/9. :)

Sweet! I'll definitely be grabbing it as long as the subtitles aren't forced!

Thank u very much. Jox maybe do u know on what stage of prep is International TV series with Dolph as the lead and directed by Stallone? Or it was canceled after pandemic began in March 2020 ? I really was so excited in late 2019-early 2020 about this news - Stallone directing his first pilot TV series with Dolph...

Apparently it's been shelved by Covid, if I get any more news I'll post them on the appropriate INTERNATIONAL topic here:

Since the standard release was on Amazon.fr for €20 i decided to buy it and i can confirm that the French subs are not forced :D But now another (probably stupid lol) question, where can i find the unrated cut? I can only seem to find the 102min R-rated one.

The unrated cut is supposed to be presented as a hidden extra somewhere, I still haven't got my copy so I can't tell you yet...

Also, I was just told my second interview (on the genesis and production of JT) in this set might be on the DVD disc only...
