Dolph Lundgren could be segueing from "The Expendables" to "The Throwaways".

The actor, currently in Brazil filming Sylvester Stallone's all-star action romp, is circling writer/producer Eric Goren's upcoming thriller.

The film tells of homeless people who re "disappearing" at an unprecedented rate from the streets of New York City. A determined reporter and a renegade cop uncover the mysterious and baffling situation whilst trying to maintain a pulse of their own.

"There is a good possibility the Dolph will direct and act in this project", Goren tells Moviehole. ''I decided that Dolph would be a great fit because The Throwaways involves quite a lot of action and Dolph has directed a number of action adventure movies before. I also feel that Dolph has a huge fan base in European and Asian markets which would be key demographics for The Throwaways."

Goren says Luke Goss ("Hellboy II : The Golden Army") is also onboard the project.

Sounds like an interesting premise.

I´m glad that the Big Guy is being considered for projects, however I have never heard of Eric Goren before.

Hum, never heard of that one before, interesting...

EDIT:

A Uwe Boll production? Already cast? That is strange and I always get suspicious when Moviehole trows things at us because you never know what it's worth...

So many potential projects circling around and The Expendables hasn't even started filming yet. When I read the title of that article I thought he had pulled out of The Expendables to do another movie, haha. Whatever Dolph does, I'm sure he'll make the right choice.

And there's a couple of his that he had already planned and might wanna do first.

What it sounds like is this writer/producer wishes that Dolph gets on board but they probably just sent the offer to him. Or this is all BS...

That sounds about right. Still people are mentioning him again (if only to stir up publicity). It´s a good thing. But he needs to be VERY careful about wich projects he does right now, this could be in some ways a second chance for the Dolphster. He needs to stay in charge of his career himself.

IMDB list the budget as 40 million, though probably wrong. This does sound quite a good idea though, for Dolphs Expendables and US-3 follow up. Luke Goss will be a good co-star. Add in another couple of well known names too, and it could be good. I really would love to see Dolph given a budget like that. Even 20 million would be great. We'll see, though coming from Boll's company, a budget like that is no surprise. Somehow or other the guy just gets money. Just as long as he stays well away from the film itself.

Hope this one happens.

Dolph needs to be consistent now, Dolph usually as one good movie or one satisfactory movie, The Russian Specialist got great reviews and it was a great movie then came diamond dogs which is satisfactory and then Missionary man once again being a good movie, lets keep our fingers crossed and hope Direct contact and command performnace will be just as good as TRS and MM. By having consistent good movies Dolph will gain new fans and old ones will also start watching dolph movies once again.

It's too good to be true, 40 million budget with dolph directing, anyways i'll believe it when jox confirms it

Yeah even $20 million is too good to be true for now (since he's still struggling to go beyond the $5 million range) so I'll believe it when the D-man himself confirms it :|

Fingers crossed people!! We could see better things for Dolph...can you imagine if CP, US-3 and The Expendabels all got a theatre release of any degree..that would be a total comeback after 13/14 years in DTV land.
