2012 interview with Worth:
I’ve been working for the last few years on a script with Dolph Lundgren that he plans on directing and starring in. It’s a really interesting piece for him as it really shows his maturity level as a performer, much the way Eastwood grew into his roles. It still gives everyone that battle honed Dolph, but adds new layers to him.

The script for the film is in one of its final drafts and with any luck will be shooting before the summer. It will be a very interesting step for Dolph as Michael Worth is focusing on a more character driven story (in the style of Eastwood in Unforgiven or Gran Torino) and though will give Dolph plenty of obstacles to fight, this time he will also be fighting his own flaws as well. There is much to the relationship story of a hunted witness and a cop that will hopefully give Dolph the role he needs to show off his acting chops in a new way. Worth has a background in the action genre as an actor but is just as balanced as a writer and a director in indie dramas (upcoming Broken Memories and Fort Mccoy). The story touches on several hot topics today including the horrors of border crossing over and under Mexico.

Hopefully this does get off the ground this year. He really needs to be involved with a film that has his full attention.

Well, I was wondering about one thing : Michal Worth was scouting locations a couple of month ago, and if it was for Wanted Man, it could be great, as he was looking into old train stations, and abandonned trains and places (really nice looking from what his instagram shares). But it might not fit the mexican /desert premices of Wanted Man (unless they've changed the locations).

Dolph would be there if it were location scouting for WM. But anyway it's a road movie between the US and Mexico so the locations scenery can be pretty diverse.

I think this is WM:
Today, Lundgren is using his recently resurged profile to get more personal projects off the ground. (...) He also mentions a budding project based on his early years in New York with the Warhol crowd. “It has to do with the underside,” he says. “It has to do with transsexuals, to tell you the truth—experiences I had in New York in the ’70s that have stuck with me, and I always thought it would be interesting to illuminate that side of society a little bit in some project.” You guessed it: it’s an action comedy.

Also reminds me of two 80s scripts or treatments that Dolph wrote for him to produce with him and Grace Jones to star in: INTERSTATE 10 (road movie on a motorcycle) and NIGHTCLUBBING (about the Sydney nightlife).

Not really related to WM, but to Michael Worth, the co-writer, who seems to be worth of attention (...).
Trailer for his movie The Butterfly Guard , a drama set in the MMA world. Seeing glimpses of his performance in this teaser, I hope he gets a part in Wanted Man. (it's been a long way since the only movie I've with with him, a martial art flick with busty redhead girls and Matthias Hues).

For sure he'll be in the movie one way or the other, whether it's in an important or a small role.

From seing his directorial projects, I almost wish he'd write and direct one with Dolph, one that has depth and strong emotional content and a more indie/artsy feel.

For some reason I can't see Dolph Lundgren doing a western... unless it's set pre WW1 and he's a German. But if they're not able to capture the Euro-style of the day to contrast him against the dusty trail, I don't think him as a desert dweller will work.

Well, from what I've understood, it would be a kinda road movie western, not only set in the desert. And with a proper director (Dolph for instance ? :D), the movie can get a good western vibe (remember the final assault in The Mechanik, or even Missionnary Man) without being only men with hat and talking in a southern accent.
