I would love, love, if Dolph became a documentary film maker.

That said, fingers crossed for things to go ahead for this smoothly.

I understood from his interviews, he wouldn't shoot Nordic Light before summer 2016, is that it ?

Yeah I think so, but if he's got the financing in place that makes a comfortable time to prep it along the year.

They only got a quote from Dolph to WENN saying he was gonna direct a film, 99,99% people would assume he hasn't directed a single film (and even he says he only directed "a couple" and certainly wouldn't contradict them, he probably considers NORDIC LIGHT will be his first real/serious directorial effort), do you think they'd actually go and check his IMDB page (and are they even paid to even do research, because it seems harder and harder to get paid to write anything, let alone actual film journalism)?

Do you think that you’re gonna get into some more directing
anytime soon?

Yeah, I have a script set in WWI. It’s a thriller. I had it for a number of years and I may direct that one. Planning to direct that, maybe next year. We are working on a script now to change a few things. It’s about times when the Edwardian days are gone, women start helping out in the war and getting their right to vote. I’m interested in history and I have another WWII script as well but I find this WWI script more interesting.

And then I have another picture I’m working on — it’s a World War I thriller set in 1917 Europe. It’s something I’ve wanted to direct for many years and I’m trying to get the script now. I would just play a smaller role in that. I will direct it if it happens, it’s called Nordic Light.
We gathered some fan questions, too. Boris Mazel wants to know if working on War Pigs gave you ideas for Nordic Light — since they’re both war movies.
Yeah, it did a little bit. It certainly made me excited because I like the history of war. World Wars I and II are both interesting periods and I think it’s very important to get all the equipment right and all the uniforms. I’m really looking forward to Nordic Light. I’ve done a lot of research, so hopefully we’ll get that going.

Well as his schedule seems clear (maybe a quickie before summer), we might have hopes for a shooting this summer for this or Wanted Man ?

Well even when you don't see anyhing happening his schedule is always busy!

Anyway, it's not just a matter of his schedule but yes, if nothing gets in the way, it's planned to start one or the other (first that gets all the elements in place) this summer.

I know NORDIC LIGHT has to be shot specifically in the summer, but since it's the most ambitious and closest to D's heart it might be for next year (leaving enough window to shoot and finish WANTED MAN in the meantime)...

From Axel:
Listened to the podcast again. He talks about his lifestyle nowdays with training food, meditating etc.
Then he talks about Arrow and how he really likes the character and how fun it is to play. Then he mentions that he will be start shooting a movie with Van damme in a few weeks.
Then Nordic light witch is set in 1917 on a island in sweden and it will be a love story. and he will just direct not act. And that he really wants some swedish actors for it. He said it could start shooting in august.
Then he also quickly mentions Expendables 4 that maybe shooting this summer.

As for one of this long gestating pet project, the tricky thing is it has to be shot in the summer in Sweden (for the light), meaning Dolph has to be in pre-production around March and free himself for 4-5 months, so now that can't be shot before 2019...

Project deleted from IMDB :(

We've been contacted by another contributor who claims that the title you added by the name of Nordic Light should be removed from IMDb because the project has been abandoned.

I deeply hope that Dolph gets to make this project that is so dear to him. And that he makes one or several movies in Sweden, something he has been trying to do for 25 years (with the Swedish civil war period piece STILL THE DRUMS)…
