Garcia will play a CIA agent assigned to accompany the Expendables on their dangerous mission.

Interesting choice, never really seen him as a 'action guy'. His role sounds a bit like Bruce Willis his role from 1 and 2.

Wasn't expecting Arnold to return tbh. I am curious what (if any?) cameos we'll get. All I want is Mr. T but that's never gonna happen lol.

Writer Gregory Poirier who had penned an EX4 screenplay in 2017-2018:

At this point I expect Dolph, Sly and Co will show up for mere cameos.
Perhaps an opening scene and then show up for the finale… Tops.
Before reading the tweet from the other EX-writer I half expected for the entire original crew to get wiped out in the intro sending Stathams lone survivor into a downward spiral and then finds redemption/new lease on life through the events of the movie… But ofcourse they are gonna keep everyone alive and hold out for a possible EX5. Sigh

I don’t think this guy knows what’s really going on. He thinks his script will be used for EX5 now.
One thing to remember though is that his script was written way before the one that is being used for the Christmas Story. And he doesn’t know what’s in the new script. One of my friends pm’ed him and told him about the new script and he didn’t know about it. I wouldn’t bet my money on an EX5.

Personally, I think it'd be interesting if the entire Expendables crew minus Statham is wiped out in the beginning, thus setting the Christmas character off on a real quest for revenge. While it would be an extremely ballsy move, it would give the film some real stakes. Unfortunately, seeing as how the series' MO hasn't given any of the characters any stakes, I don't see how this is going to be much different.

Yep. There really was never any weight behind this story even from the first film unfortunately. Just an excuse to throw all these guys onto a screen together to draw an audience. My hopes were dashed after the second film came out because they dialed up the silliness to a whole 'nother level.

At the end of the day at least it got Dolph back in the theatrical circuit... little did we know a decade later the big screen would be less relevant thanks to streaming.

According to Stallone it would start filming in October so it would make sense if it starts around now. Here's the picture from the Instagram story btw. First look a the logo and interesting that (like the script shared by the stunt coördinator) it's Expendables 4 instead of something like 'Christmas Story'.

It could be just costume fitting or other prep work, in any case I figured he might alternate AQUAMAN 2 with EXPENDABLES.

As for the title, it's just a production moniker for now. I also think the executives are not yet sure whether to call it EX4 or A CHRISTMAS STORY, it also depends if another sequel comes afterwards, but that's the Statham-centered episode...

‘The Expendables’ starts UK shoot as Millennium closes key territory sales (exclusive)
https://www.screendaily.com/news/the-ex ... ferrer=RSS
Millennium Media has commenced production in London on the latest film in The Expendables franchise and announced it has sold most key territories and added new cast.

Principal photography began on Wednesday (September 29) and will continue to shoot at the company’s Nu Boyana Studios production facility in Bulgaria, and Greece.

Deals have closed in Latin America (California Filmes), Middle East (Eagle Films), South Korea (Joy n Cinema), CIS and Baltics (Top Film), Japan (Pony Canyon), India, Philippines, Hong Kong, Malaysia (MVP), Benelux (Dutch FilmWorks) and Eastern Europe (Vertical Entertainment). Lionsgate holds rights for the US, Canada and UK.

Sheila Shah, Jacob Scipio and Levy Tran have joined returning cast of Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, and Sylvester Stallone alongside Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Andy Garcia and Tony Jaa.
JJ Nugent, Millennium Media VP of international sales and distribution, said, “The Expendables continues to be one of Millennium’s most successful franchises to date and we, alongside our partners around the world, couldn’t be more excited to kick off this fourth installment. Big action films continue to be what the theatrical experience is all about. Add an esteemed franchise with adored stars to mix, and its recipe for a remarkably entertaining moviegoing experience. We are incredibly honored to be able to bring films like this and many more to fans across the globe.”

I'm probably confusing this with something else but the Exblog i know is Japanese. Doubt they're reporting on something from Greece? Only Greece and Expendables related thing I was able to find is this on Facebook.
