In theory yes, a female expendables kind of film could be good. But it would need a better studio, a good writer and a decent director. Much like the male version it needs Shane Black and it needs to be as far away from Avi Lerner as possible.

Asked about the status of “The Expendables 4,” Couture said they’re waiting on a script. He saw Stallone at the gym a couple of weeks ago and Stallone talked about how he wants to take the next installment in a different direction.
Splendid Film has picked up rights across German-speaking Europe for The Expendables 4, the final title in the action franchise starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The tongue-in-cheek Expendables films have been good business for the Cologne-based distributor, which has released all three previous movies. The first three Expendables have earned close to $30 million in combined revenue at the German box office. The fourth and final Expendables is set for a 2018 release.

Yep just saw that on facebook myself. I really hope they steer away from the direction of ex3 because that concept was terrible... the only good to come out of it was Mel.

It's going to be mediocre. That's for sure, but it's a shining beacon of light for Dolph at the moment.

Now that this one is really happening, I hope Sly gives Dolph a bigger role again. Dolph was great in part 1!

As for the fourth Expendables film, Lundgren reveals the next installment in the Sylvester Stallone-led action franchise will shoot later this year. “That’s what I’ve heard,” he says. “It’s going to be this year sometime, possibly in the fall.”
