According to IMDB, the script is written by writer/director Chee Keong Cheung and partner Oliver Morran (UNDERGROUND, BODYGUARD: A NEW BEGINNING).

Co-producer Chad A. Verdi:
Filming in London, England in October 2017, I can't wait to be on set.

Brandon Jones (Dolph Lundgren) is an undefeated underground fighter of exceptional talent who doesn't know how to lose... but he is ordered to do just that for a crucial high stakes fight. Failing to follow through on this command, a merciless punishment is exacted, resulting in the brutal murder of his wife and daughter, and Brandon himself is brain damaged, a shadow of the man he once was.

With the help of his best friend and trainer Dutch, Brandon must rebuild himself mentally and physically to take revenge on those that tore his family apart and left him for dead. In his way stands a cartel of cold-blooded fighters, a corrupt police force headed by Detective Cain (Scott Adkins) and the limitless resources of mob boss Vincent, a ruthless and twisted individual, who holds sway over the city.

As Brandon exacts his revenge, leaving a trail of devastation and destruction in his wake, he comes to realize that all is not what it seems and what he once feared lost may prove to be his salvation.

The film is currently in pre-production and I am producing with Craig Baumgarten, Gudrun Giddlings, Andre Rellis. VMI has the worldwide rights to this film. This is my sixth project with VMI and for sure not my last.

Given two of the producers involved and what Dolph mentioned in a recent interview, there are good chances he's considering directing it (to "get back on the saddle" so to speak)...

So it is now confirmed that Dolph is directing MALEVOLENCE! 8)

Back in the saddle 8 and 1/2 years after shooting ICARUS (although as creative producer you could say he was almost a co-director on SKIN TRADE)...

Production will take place in October and November (including prep).

Then I assume CREED II would be shot in the winter...

I can't believe it's been that long since Icarus. Can't wait to see it.

I hope he'll be able to have full control on this movie (as opposed to Icarus). He deserves it. The VMI productions seems to be honnest and straightforward, even if sometimes cheap. let's be optimistic on this one.
(oh, and Scott Adkins in the equation is of course some good news).

Well, I just saw that Scott Adkins will be shooting a Sinner And Saints movie in Bulgaria this december. Is Malevolence still on for him ? (it might work on schedule, as he can shoot Dolph's movie on october / november and go on on S&S on december).

MALEVOLENCE shall be shot in November so Adkins should be freed by then (I'm not even sure he'll be required to be on-set the whole time).

Three years ago while I was visiting the set of SKIN TRADE, Dolph told me of a theater play about a boxer that two writers sent his way, wonder if this wouldn't be a movie version of that they then developed...

I would really like it Dolph had the opportunity to get a good supporting cast. For me, adding Peter Weller to the cast of Skin Trade was a very good move (I would love him to do more movies nowadays, plus he's a terrific history enthusiast, he must have got along well with Dolph), so some people of this stature would be good for the movie.

Does Creed's rushed development puts brake on this one or not ? I have a feeling this Malevolence might not happen right now :( . (But I might be wrong, no news is good news).
