Given that VMI tends to announce casts and projects on their website before deals are closed (DEADLY ARSENAL with Seagal; Adkins for MALEVOLENCE), I wouldn't take it for granted but here it is:

CASTLE FALLS

Image

Director: Dolph Lundgren

Cast: Dolph Lundgren, Scott Adkins

Genre: Action/Adventure

Three million dollars are hidden in a luxurious condominium known as The Castle. Two vicious rival gangs led by Deacon and Shea (Lundgren), are after the hidden cash but before they can retrieve it, the building’s janitor Mike (Adkins) stumbles upon it. The three groups are battling for the prize but are all under a ticking time bomb, as the building is strapped with dynamite to be demolished by the city. The three groups have 8 hours to retrieve the cash and get out alive.

EDIT:
Dolph stopped by the current AFM market (here at VMI Worldwide's booth it seems)

Interesting. But I hope he will stick with TV series than this.

Looks like there is some artwork with Adkins for this behind the lady.

If this had a decent budget, say $10 mil like Triple Threat, for example. It could be really good. It's a fun action concept that warrants some nice face-offs between action actors. If it's going to be another Hard Rush though, I can live without it.

If it's indeed to be helmed by Dolph (and that means the script must decent enough to make him wanna call the shots), then I could see it turn out into an enjoyable DEFENDER-type action-packed thriller.

In any case Dolph is obviously very keen on returning behind the camera as soon as a project gets greenlit and allows him to. The worrying part is how WANTED MAN (an 11-12 year-old pet project of his) and MALEVOLENCE are both stalling and seem to be more difficult to get off the ground, whereas this CASTLE FALLS obviously sounds more generic. Perhaps if THE INTERNATIONAL pilot gets picked up to be a series then he could direct a few episodes, have fun with those and work/experiment on his craft as a filmmaker...

(PS: How TRIPLE THREAT got $10 mil is the same as SKIN TRADE thanks to Tony Jaa's manager/producer/businessman Mike Selby and access to financing other than the traditional route, but the chances of D associating with him again seem very slim)...

Yeah other than a couple of theatrical co-starrers, the last couple of years have been disappointing. I've been looking forward to another directorial effort from Dolph for some time and it's a shame that every time he gets close, something seems to happen. You can basically guarantee if Dolph directs it'll be better than of his other starring roles since the last time he directed.

I really enjoyed Triple Threat. The plot was paper thin but the action and the fights were fantastic and pretty refreshingly old school. That's a shame that Dolph isn't likely to pair with those folks again. Skin Trade has his best fights since the 90's easily.

2 things I'm still dying to see him star in before he starts hanging it up for more directorial/producer roles are a WWII period piece ( NL? ) and maybe an indie western in the style of hostiles or slow west so he can finally live out that Eastwood dream of his :)

I wonder if this counts in the movies "in the pipeline" in this Scott Adkins' interview.

A march shooting is making sense, as Sly will be shooting Samaritan, and they could shoot The International this summer (or in the fall).

I’d take this with a big pinch of salt, this is a very loose estimate start coming from who knows who. Dolph has not begun prep yet, and THE INTERNATIONAL pilot seems to be a priority over this (bigger prod, CBS prob wants it ready by September) and more likely to to be shot first and this late winter/early spring...

Though VMI are not the most reliable in terms of making announcements too early too soon, they've shared the news:

IMDB-credited local casting directors indicates that they're looking at shooting in Alabama (maybe Mobile like BLACK WATER?)...
