Actor/writer Michael Worth said in British magazine "Impact" that Dolph Lundgren has been considered for the lead of his western "Dual" (
http://imdb.com/title/tt0482497/ ) and "would have been great". They were trying to get European financial backing with Dolph attached in mind, but Worth said it was involving much more money and also would change the film as he wrote it.

The plot is thus: In the late 1880s, drifter Luke Twain discovers a town where all the inhabitants has been brutally murdered. Making a choice to remain and uncover what took place there, he finds himself in a strange game of cat and mouse with a mysterious man that still has one final mission...

Interestingly enough Steven R. Monroe, the director behind "It Waits" (which I'll check out since I just got the DVD from Netflicks) and a friend of Worth, directed the piece.

No because as I said, Dolph was "considered" at some point, but the idea of getting him attached was given up.

I'm actually happy that he's not doing a western. Only one reason: I think a hat doesn't suit him. The hat in Sweepers wasn't so cool. But even worse is a scarf (some scenes towards the end of Red Scorpion).

I'd like Dolph to do a Western but with the guys doing Dual? Nope. If it's directed by the D man himself then I'd love to see a Western with him.

dolph has a good look for a bad guy in a western ( remember the "german" in Texas Fighter , with Olivier Gruner ) . it would be cool ( and exploring other genres would be cool and good for his carreer )

I think a western would be cool!! but without a hat/cap please ;) but I agreed if you say that Dolph should do some other genres, not that action is getting bored... but it would be cool to see him in other genres

Dual Dolph

The western itself would have been very different. It is more of an "art" film, dealing with the psychological warfare between the men than the physical. More of an acting piece and Dolph would have been great in it. Monroe is a very visualy strong director and the story (written by actor Michael Worth) would have showcased him in a way that would have probably given him some new appeal (ala Johnny Mnemonic). The film is at Film Festivals now so obviously is different than the usual B movie makers.
